I dont post much here, but I have found this forum to be awesome. I have an off topic question. My wife and I just found out that we are expecting a girl. Any suggestions for names?

I like Euro-sounding names, like “Fausto Campagnolo”. Or, if you want something running-themed, how about “Fartlek Yasso”? Triathlon-related? “Kona Kamehameha?"

Ryder for a boy...and he would have a bike at the age of 2.

congratulations!
we found girls names to be easier than boys (ended up with a boy). the girl's name we decided on but we never used was Skye...close second and potential middle name was Kaleigh (both Scottish).

the diva's name is Carson. I've got friends with daughters named Kailea, Karris and Teagan.
we found the social security listing of registered names helpful. Congrats.

I truly appreciate all of the suggestions. We are leaning towards Hannah, but not for sure. Please keep them coming.

Congrats. Alysse was our choice. Also liked Madeline, Bryn, Shea, and Allison. Don't stress too much, because whichever on you choose will be the perfect name about 2 minutes after you hold her for the first time.

First off, congratulations!

I am partial to Brynn (my wife's name). We like the names Madison, Elizabeth, Madeline, Kaitlyn, Ella, Grace, and Emma.

Hannah does get the vote of the dyslexics for some reason.

Congrats! I have no specific suggestions, but I like looking at the lists of "most popular names in (insert year here)" and would pick something not on the list. I liked being the only one with my name in school; though I always wanted to set up a Mike vs Dave basketball or hockey game ;-)

There were no "Sockets" in my class at High School. No Garens either.

"Kali" - Despite her negative connotations, she is not actually the goddess of Death, but rather of Time and Change.

What could be a better name for a triathlete than "Goddess of Time?"

and she'll have a real cool nickname: "Killer"

Kaya! We named out Malamute that! Great name.

However, my personal favourite is CADENCE . Our friends named their daughter that, it pissed me off cause now we can't use it

My girls middle name is Cadence. Wanted it to be here first but lost that battle.

We went with SIENA... Cadence is an awesome middle name. I lose every battle of that nature.

We named our daughter Hannah (she is a total cutie, by the way). But also consider Shannon, Taylor, and Ella. It was a bit tough for us to pick out names because we are both teachers. Almost everytime one found a potential name, the other seemed to be reminded of a student that made the name less desirable, if you know what I mean.

i'm sure this will offend someone, but i think madison is a terrible name, even if your all time favorite thing in the world is IMwisco. why be subtle, just name the girl triathlon.

I loved the suggestion of Cadence!! As far as other female tri-specific names are concerned, I would go with "Michelle," "Kona," "Shimano" (unisex) or "Ali'i" (unisex). "Queen K" is a little much.

I just thought of a good one. How about "Aero".

That would be awesome. Then I could ask you, "How's your Aspen?"

By the way, how come nobody suggested Desiree?

My daughter's name is Cheyenne. I'm going with name my next children (if or when I have more) after cities/states.

Girls:
Savannah - Anna
Virginia

Boys:
Dakota - Cody

Some ideas. I don't know if you would want to try that out. I think it would be fun but I wouldn't make it be like Alaska or Maine or something.

I prefer West Virginia.

Honestly though, I would never name a boy Dakota. It sound like a girl's name to me (no offense to any guys named Dakota out there). Maybe I'm way off, but I'd shy away from Dakota. When I hear that name, I think more of Dodge Dakota than the state. Then it's a slippery slope from there, and we start seeing kids named Silverado, or Tacoma, or F-250.

Lol Chunky.

Silverado isn't too shabby. Give it time, it will happen. I see what your saying on that name but I'm still a sucker for it. I don't have to live with it (ha!), just kidding. Nice Mom ain't I?

Oh by the way, I loved the Aero the Acrobat game. I was allowed when Sega was out on every Friday to get 3 games to play on the weekend and I got that one ALL THE TIME. I eventually beat it and that was that. Then it was off to Toe Jam and Earl which will always be a classic and a fine name to name your children! (lol)
