Anyone Else Addicted to MapMyRun & MapMyRide?
I use it all the time...I have mapped like 30 courses, but don't usually release them. I also use it when I'm out of town. Oh yeah, and I log my training there too.
BTW...aren't they all one in the same...I only use the mapmyride.com page, but log runs, swims, bikes, lifts, etc...
Either way a sweet site...I'm just waiting to be able to use the mapmypoints for gift cards like they claim they're trying to do...I have like 1000 saved up

Love 'em. Map my own routes and find routes others in the area are doing. Fantastic. Especially for running in unfamiliar cities.
I wasn't but I am now! Turns out I am running way farther than I realized. Kind of nice:)

Some I should, but I doubt many people would like to come to my apartment to start their run

+1. I tap into mapmytri. It's a great tool for mapping routes, but also for approximating gradients. The universal problem is with elevation mapping. An out-and-back should have a nearly symmetric elevation profile, but 9 times out of 10 they're not. However, I've done comparisons between one-way mapmywhatever elevation plots and the altitude profiles on my Polar G3, and found them to be over 96% agreement on routes longer than a few miles. Awesome tool.
I use it from time to time as well. I
solved the "start from my house" problem by mapping all routes from a local landmark that is close enough to my house that the little extra doesn't matter. In my case, my LBS is about a mile away, so I just start and end all my routes there. That way no one just shows up at my house for a workout...
I like other especially like using it to map rides/runs when I'm not home.

Just found these sites about a month ago and have been using it to track my training and find new bike and running routes. It sure beats driving the course to find the mileage.
Anyone else using it?
