This will be my longest event yet. (it is an odd grouping of distances)
It will also be my first wetsuit swim. Hopefully I'm not the one to win the Longest time spent in Transition. :-)

Save me a bagel at the carb tent. I'll get there eventually.

Save me one too. Its my first everything! The weather's looking like I may want to keep the wetsuit on after the swim to keep warm...

The email I got from them today doesn't have race day packet pickup.
Packet Pick Up: Saturday from 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm at the transition area.

They have to have race day packet pick up right?

Edit: Nevermind. I found the info on the web. That email gave me a scare.

haha :-)

I almost have that page memorized I've been going over it so much. I tried emailing them to get some course information, but never got anything back. I'm heading down tomorrow afternoon and staying in Barnegat. I'm too paranoid to risk race day pickup!

Drive the bike course on Saturday. I missed a turn in my last race of last year. Really ruined my day.

Of course I say this and I'm going into this race without doing seeing the course again. Yikes!

I won't mind the cool temps, but I hope we luck out and stay dry.

I rode the course last week. The road surface is a bit rough in patches and there are some large potholes, especially as you leave and enter the park. It is fairly flat, except for a section between 11 and 15 miles, there is a bit of up and down.

I am also kind of worried about the temps, especially the water temp. While we will all be sweating while swimming, the cooler air while biking may make for a mightly cold trip. Might be time for some quick, homemade arm warmers (old tube socks)!

As long as the rain holds off, we will be fine, but slick roads and racing bicycles don't always go hand and hand.

Good luck.

If its anything like this morning, it won't be so bad. I may throw on a long sleeve something-or-other for the bike though.

Thanks for the course info, I plan on giving it a look-see. Now to see if I can make a stop along the way down to check out a pair of bikes so I can start riding around with my girl :-)

Good luck guys! See you down there. I'll be the one looking totally lost with a bright red Trifuel tri-top ;-)

Sounds to me like you've just made yourself the Trifuelers meeting point.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Socket, I'm a jerk. I was just about to the food at the food line with the rest of the group I was with when I spotted you. You were too far away to yell out to you and I never saw you after that.

Congrats! On your race, looking forward to your report.

I sure hope the other trifuelers made it safely through the race. I really feel badly for whomever crashed on the bridge. It was a serious injury. I think there was a woman that flipped over her handlebars at that bridge as well. YIKES!!!

I want to see my splits before I comment on my race. I finished 114th overall.
I think I'll be unhappy with my swim result but very happy with bike and run.
It was my longest event so far, and my first wetsuit swim.

That's ok, I was so beat after the race I didn't hang around long.

I saw the results of that crash and it looked nasty. Saw a few people on the side of the road holding their legs at mile 21 and another guy further down laid out in the back of a police car.

My girlfriend was cheering me on and heard about some stupid lady who was almost running over people honking at the racers, got chased off the road by the police, then got back on the road and drove so slow people almost ran into her truck. Stupid people suck.

I was 252/264 with an official time of 3:17:07. #1 lesson from the race: don't run over your only water bottle at the beginning of the bike.
