Trifuel snapshot; Your First Stop

Decided to keep a sticky thread of the Trifuel basics as reminders to current members and a starting thread for new users joining us. I'll keep it brief and add periodically.

Don't forget to check out our guides.
- The Gear - find the right gear for you and what fellow Trifuelers are using.
- Local Guides - for retailers, coaches, tri clubs, etc in your area.
- Events - find events and see who else is racing.

Our Forum Rules:
http://www.trifuel.com/forums/faq.php?faq=vb_faq#faq_new_faq_item

Fill out your profile to help locate training partners and connect with other triathletes near you.

Please do a quick search using the search box in the top right corner before posting, it's likely there's a good thread going for your subject of interest and you'll get more information and responses adding to an existing thread.

Enjoy and don't hesitate to PM me or post any questions you may have.
Oh, and if you're a lurker, Just Tri It, we don't bite ;) the more input and pool of knowledge/experiences the better this resource will be... o.k. so maybe not so brief, sorry :D

Good idea, tribro.

Yeah, NEWBIES, Fill out your profile!!

Then queries about training, gear, races, etc. can actually be meaningful.

PoC

ooo nasy PoC. Be nice. :-P I agree Tribro. It will help with questions. Many common questions have been answered over the years, so check the search engine out.

Tribro - another idea along the same lines that might be interesting on this point:

Create a "Getting Started With Triathlons" header at the top. On that page, you can have a section on getting started with training (ie, what's a race plan look like, what are the resources, what's a RPE as opposed to a HRM"); getting started with gear ("What's an aerobar"); Getting started with Nutrition ("When should I eat?" "What's an electrolyte" "How many gels should I throw in my shorts?") etc etc

You could provide links to forum searches to the various answers to all the usual questions etc.

I used to be very active on the Snowboard Carving forums and the Getting Started with Carving pages were always great - especially since posters created the content for the page, and the topics along with the relevant debates were laid out for beginners to read and understand.

Just an idea to consider.

"Felt or Cervelo?" "Best Fluid Trainer?"

I definitely would be aligned with instructions as advised over here

How do I post my blog? I have a blog through google blogger and want to have it automatically update to trifuel. Is this possible?

Thanks in advance for the help,
Ben

*Facepalm*

I'd love to be added to the best blogs, as well! I thought maybe I could message you, Tribro, and not bug everyone on here. Alas, I couldn't figure that part out, so I'm stuck being an eyesore. lol

Here's my blog addy: http://tiffsspartanettetraining.blogspot.com/

Thanks in advance, and I apologize again. *Le sigh* ...I hate being a n00b.

I give you my blog to be added too:

Hey There Tribro, I was just checking out the link to the forum rules and it said that the page doesn't exist fyi.

Best,
Brandon

I got the same thing as Brandon above. Link still not working :)

Sorry if this is off subject, but I'm not finding any search function on your site. This has been very usefull in the past when trying to narrow down posts to relavence to my current point of interest. Thanks, slow but moving.

Sorry about that. I just added it to the left sidebar.
