Like the topic says,

If you could have a few things in a Web Tri community, such as this, what would they be?
(Things that are missing here, or other sites you know of that are lacking what you want)

Btw, it can be anything, I'm just wondering :D

-Im in classes for web programming, and maybe I can make some magic happen.

Things can be as specific as forum features, or complete web ideas, just post em :D

-Thanks

Tribro is our genie when it comes to our requests and the web site. (He gives everyone 3 wishes) His call on if he needs some magic. :)

Another web programmer here willing to lend a hand if need be.

Personally, I can't think of anything I'd like to add to the site; a few things fixed maybe *coughaddeventsmapcough*, but nothing major added. Personally, I'm going to fiddle with the Training Log to see if I can finagle a simpler way of adding Tri splits and such.

-Thats all fine and dandy :D, but there is a better outcome when more then one person is involved, just like in everything we do. I'm not trying to take anything from him, just maybe to help develop something we can all enjoy, if it's not out there :D

-I think Tribro has done an AWESOME job here :D

Wow, they have web programming classes in high school now? That's pretty cool. Are they teaching you back end stuff (what languages) or just html/css type of stuff. the world is a changing...

event map and tags on the list now :) need to get cracking on those this weekend. As far as other stuff, i don't know that there are major things missing in the tri community that need to be filled. Many, including myself, have tried launching tons of sites or features cause they are cool, but the bottom line is there must be a need, then a function. The most popular sections of trifuel are still the ones I originally launched with, new bells and whistles make things cool for a small number but don't really effect overall usage. There are so many sites out there, and so many new ones in the works ;) that it would be tough to create something new and original, most are just the same stuff presented differently (or too often the same way). Trimapper does maps well, InsideTri is now on top of things in content as is Slowtwitch, there are a large number of fitness logs.

For Trifuel, eventually perhaps a stripped down simplified version of the log with ajax and better connectivity with the rest of the site, comments etc.

No not highschool, I take private classes etc.

Currently I only know how to program the following languages fluently

-Java
-Html (exntensions)
-CSS
-CSS+
-PHP

From what I know though, its enough to create web based applications for some things etc. I actually don't plan on making a new site Tribro lol, I don't have the time :D. I was just gonna see if their was somethings people may want, that I can create, and then somehow people can use them.

I love the attitude of this commmunity, and being here myself, if I did something It would be to link it out, or join it with the site. My current project is creating a training program directly capabale of uploading workouts from Polar Equipment and Forerunner by Garmin, to a web application so you can keep track of your rides and runs, and perhaps swims with the Garmin equipment. This is more of a long term project since the coding is extremely time consuming, but meanwhile thats why I made the post.

I can make quite a few programs, very clean and simple, or very extensive. So for free I made the post seeing if I could create some things people wanted :D

-Thanks

P.S. - off to the ortho, finally getting braces off!

Sounds cool. Look at motionbased and trainingpeaks as I believe they both do the Polar and Forerunner uploads. And I think there is something out there called Cheetah or something that is doing stuff with Power files. That may be opensource so you could contribute some of your work to that project perhaps.

My perspective on computing is different then yours it seems :D

I try to do what my uncle does business wise. If thier is something out there, I try to re-design it complete, and make it better :D. Knowing there is other programs like it out there is better for me, as I can see there is a bigger demand for it :D

But lets not stray off topic :D

I am just putting this out there because i have noticed it other places but how about an off-topic area. Just to chat and talk about non-tri things.

If your going to do something wrong enjoy it.

Heh. We call that the "Question for Trifuel Women" thread, otherwise known as the shaving thread.

I think we have covered a wide range of topics in that one.

Personally, I can't think of anything I want added.
