I know we have discussed this before but I tried searching and couldn't find anything.
What is the name of the company that allows you to slide the bars and create your own blend of sports drink?
Also has anyone used it and what was your feeling on it?
Thanks in advance!!

A lot of people have it, and are giving positive feedback about it. FYI, I got an email today saying they are having a sale for the next 48 hours....

I know that RV uses the stuff, and was raving about it earlier today, so you might want to hit him up with a PM if he doesn't respond here.

I use it and love it. I went through the questionaire and ended up with my own custom blend. For my second batch I just turned up the flavor a little.
Best thing is I can go for a 5-6 hr ride or ride the IM bike without taking a single gel using the Infinit.

Raving? Sure why not...
Infinit works great for me - Customizing your own formula is great as is then being able to make a multi-hour feed bottle and eliminating having to carry gels and Enduralytes etc. and thereby only needing to get water on course. Nice and simple.

This stuff's great because the company gets it - "it" being active nutrition. I can't say as though I've ever used the stuff, but I apply the same principles of osmilality by tinkering with other commercial products. Nutritional requirements are so user-specific that consumables must be adjustable. I routinely see colleagues and competetors downing gels/solids and washing it down with sports drink, not realizing that the sports drink is already at or near its maximum caloric concentration. If your level of activity is short enough, or at low intensity, then you may get away with digesting some of it, but the rest will sit (or slosh) in your gut. As the company says in their literature, more is not always better.

I'm so tired of measuring and calculating the correct balance of water/powder/gel that I am seriously considering infinIT as my sole supply. For those of you that do this, what kind of concentrations/formulations do you find work best for your body composition?

I ordered my first set of infinit last night. It will be an interesting change not having to worry about taking electrolute pills, taking gels, etc but we will see. I'll have to break it in on those long rides and see how it holds up.

I started using Infinit a bit over a year ago. At this point I wouldn't go to anything else for long distance. $$$ wise it comes out to just a bit more than I was spending on gels and drinks (was on the order of a few dollars/month for me, iirc). Nutritionaly, it's been the best I've used so far.

For example, my half-iron/full-iron distance formula consists of (per 2 scoops):

with sliders at

For a full tri I can easily put 6 scoops in a Trifuel bottle (you can concentrate more, but I like 4-6 scoops per bottle) and have my nutrition for the entire bike in two bottles, with the aero acting as a water refill. Some people express concern over taking too little or too much of a concentrated mix. I simply got a sharpie, measured the actual water ounces in the bottle, divided into the appropriate amounts and marked the bottle where I should be drinking to each hour.

The only negative I've found is that with the protein mixed in, I can't shake the bottle to mix a concentrated mixture due to the bubbling. My solution has been to put the powder in the bottle, add water, and mix with a chopstick. For the concentrated mixtures it's a bit disconcerting because the powder scoop seems like it's going to fill up the entire bottle, but once you add water it reduces in volume very quickly.

I ordered my first batch at the end of last week...realized they were located here in cincinnati, so called them up and arranged to pick it up to waive the shipping. I spoke with one of the owners on Friday when I called and he was very helpful and friendly. He even adjusted my formula a little thru talking with me since I wasn't completely sure what I wanted.

Picked it up from there office yesterday (which is very small, but cozy with old IM posters on the walls including an autographed Dave Scott v. Mark Allen poster I wanted to take with me) and took it for a test run last night. I haven't been using anything but water as far as liquids go, so my body had to adjust a little, but overall I was very pleased. Plus, it's just cool to have a bottle of your own special formula...makes me feel important, or at least like I'm more legit as a triathlete

I ordered mine a couple days ago. Unfortunately, however, simultaneously very fortunately, I don't like anywhere near Cincinnati so I had to have it shipped. I'll let you all know how it works out. I went with a little protein, so I am a bit apprehensive, because I am not sure whether or not it will upset my stomach. But, I only ordered a small container so I can try it out.

I had a little protein in mine...but I have previously used accelerade during long training, which has a much more substantial level of protein than my new formula, and it never bothered me...so no stomach issues to worry about here
