Collegiate Nationals?
Oh and Matt's new bike is crazy fast looking :-)
It was really run. I'll get a report up this weekend. I think I had a good race for my fitness level, but my fitness level is not really existent at the moment. I actually thought that I'd be slower than I was, especially on the bike split. 2:28:07, 34/256 undergraduate women. ~4 min slow all on the run compared to last summer's times, swim and bike are less consistent in general so a ways from my best split in either one, but on average about what I'd do last summer. My quads cramped on the first hill of the run and I just kind of plodded... I'm happy with my race and I plan to be back next year with a full team (instead of 2 girls and a guy) and in better shape.
25:04 - 1:30 slow
1:37
1:12:31 - 2:00 slow
0:54
48:02 - 4 min slow
=2:28:07 - 4 min slow
Yeah it was a lot of fun meet Matt didn't see Catwood, meant to try and gets some #s but ran out of time before team left for AL, I pulled my groin in the swim somehow so the bike and run were a weee bit more difficult then I had planned on.
S: 32:19
T1: 1:53
B: 1:19:31
T2: 1:24
R: 54:29
T: 2:49:35
A 4 minute improvement over last year with a tougher run course so I'm pleased I was able to just mentally push through cause it realy F-ing hurt on the bike, and said because I think otherwise I would have been able to have a much better race. Being on a tribike and not being able to go into aero (pain was just too much) just kind of sucks.
Sweet bike as said above Matt, and it was nice meeting you. I may try and post more but i'd only give it a 50/50

Base 1 (Week 2, 16.5hrs)
Check out my blog!
Sorry I didn't get to meet you, az... Also meant to be more organized, but school had me pulling 2 all nighters the week before etc. It was pretty hard to miss your team though. You guys look like you have a lot of fun. Way to get through the race with the pain. The run was brutal enough without being injured. By the last hill around mile 4, I was ready to just curl into a ball and let those 8 girls who passed me on the run just trample all over my dead quads. I even had to think of Anton's push through saying of just relentless forwards progress and it was just a 10k. Was it just me or was the swim the most aggressive one that I've ever swum in?
Carolyn managed to rack up right near me again like in IL last year. :)
I only saw az for a minute and couldn't find him later.
The swim was almost 100m long, so about a minute slow. I was lucky enough to sneak off to the side and avoid the carnage behind me.
The bike was long, too, but I'm not sure how because it seemed like the course from last year, so about another minute slow there.
The run was right, but it was TOUGH!
20:26 (felt kind of "meh" about this)
1:20 (only stuck in my wetsuit for a few seconds....good for me)
1:02:39 (not so happy here)
0:45 (almost crashed here, lol!)
37:32 (I was happy with this time for such a hard course)
=2:02:39 for 29th OA
Not an "A" day, but not so bad. I even had two beers later. :)
St. Anthony's is on Sunday. I'm holding on to my taper and hopefully I'll be about 4 min faster between getting the right distances and racing an easier course.

Not fast enough.
Geez, dude, top 30 at Collegiate Nationals? What a SLACKER! ;)
Have fun at St. Anthonys. I gotta work all weekend, so I wont be making it over there.
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
29th overall is awesome. Congrats to all who participated.
Hey "kids"! Thanks for being part of such a great race. My cousin is a senior at Ohio State and I'd encouraged her to give triathlon a tri. She joined the school club and her first tri was at Nationals. She loved it - partly the sport aspect but also the incredible energy and fun that surrounded the event. That's usually the case at all tris, but seems like maybe it was especially the case in a field of all college students. Great performances all of you, but also great sportsmanship. We've got another recruit into this world of endurance life!!

Come on kids, how'd you do?
