Training Build up
Are the base training you've just completed and build up you're starting part of the same plan? If not, do you start base again?

What are the intesity levels of your build workouts compared to your base? Your build periods are going to start incorperating anerobic enduarnce and power into your weekly workouts.

They were templates that weren't initially part of the same plan. The 16 week plan has 3 weeks of build-up before starting any power work anet work. I suspect the second plan was meant to be started after a longer layoff than 1 week coming off base. I think I'm going to stick to the plan for the first week, but I think I'm going to build up during the 2nd week and do the 3rd week in effect twice for the beginning of the power / anet phase.
I think that should work, cause doing really short, Z2 runs and rides would be hard for 2 more weeks.
To tri or not to tri - that's not a question at all!
I would look at this article and see if this aligns with what you're doing:

I just began my 16 week build up to my A race in July. I took a 1 week layoff between base training and starting this to really recover nicely. So far so good, except, well, I'm a little bored with the beginning of my 16 week plan. It starts with 3 weeks of "build-up" period that has be doing essentially very short workouts to build up to relatively longer workouts.
Problem is, my base training had me doing workouts about the length/distance of where I'll be three weeks from now if I stick with the 16 week plan.
So here's the question: Is it worth it to back off to much shorter distances and build up to a distance I already know I can handle, or should I re-do the first three weeks to amp up the time?
For example, tonight, my plan has me doing a 20 minute run. as I'm riding home, I'm thinking since I was routinely at 60 mins + during base, is it worth the effort to get changed?
Do you think there's value in scaling back to go forward?
