Warm greetings from cold Ontario!
It's cold here in Newfoundland so I hear ya! It's balmy today at 8 degrees celsius. The ice is off my lake so I may "try" an open water this weekend, but it won't be pleasant! I have frostbitten feet on my bike in May here. We have the icebergs to make the wind chillier than normal, although really pretty to ride past. Good luck!
Sue
Welcome! It's getting warmer! Can bike without a facemask now! Join us a www.canadiantriathletes.com and whine about the weather with sympathetic canadians!!

It's finally starting to warm up in London, ON - should be getting my bike tuned up soon!

Welcome to Trifuel :)
It's nice and warm here in Ontario (a city in Southern CA!)
I'll be doing a half IM up your way this year, and my fiance is from there. Beautiful place!
It's still hockey season, ya know.
Don't be so easy on yourself 'cause this one might be all that you have left
Kylie - must be Peterborough? I am debating about entering that one!
diva_mom - Hockey mom or watching playoffs or both? Either way the season is fast approaching!

It's the Muskoka 70.3, which is already full. Honeymoon race for us! :)
Peterborough is a great 1/2 IM to start out at. I have done it 3 times, and will be back for a 4th. Not to crowded at the start.
Do you race a lot in the subaru series?
Usually I do a few from the Subaru series - Niagara, Orillia, Guelph Lake II mostly.
hockey mom? nope. mom who played hockey. the diva is too, well, diva like. she might be a tutu (eeek). and Avs fan and ex-coloradan.
welcome...and well, i guess Nebraska's not that cold.

In Canada, the water is either cold or frozen! Man, I am just iching to get into some outdoor training, but mother nature won't let me outside to play until I finish my vegetables! There has been some nice days, but I am a total cold weather wimp.
OK, so a little about me - I have been in the sport for years, and wish to get into some longer courses (olympic distances and up - no IM just yet!). My strongest event has always been the swim, but I am REALLY trying to work on the bike this year. My wife also does triathlon, and our oldest boy (4 years) may do his first kids of steel this summer!
I am amazed by the increase in participation in this sport over the years. I had no idea there were so many tri-geeks out there. Oh, speaking of "geeks" I am a professional accountant who loves computers and making money. Visit my web site and see for yourself: www.4eyeson.com
Look forward to many interesting discussions!
