That awesome you're doing the race too. Per your note about passing on any trianing clinic info, check out the link below. It's info on two Alcatraz training coaches Reid Swanson and Gary Emich. I went to their Alcatraz clinic two weeks ago and it was awesome. My fear of the swim almost completely gone as a result of their clinic. I highly recommend Gary's DVD too, which you can purchase via his site (listed on my blog below). Best of luck and keep me posted on your training. Cheers, Perry

When I first heard about this race, I thought the swim portion was absolutely insane and anyone who swam it was nuts. Well…..this year I entered the lottery (thinking I certainly wouldn’t get selected), got selected and will be doing this crazy race and conquering one of my biggest fears and physical challenges with the swim from Alcatraz to San Francisco.
