Garmin Forerunner Foot Pod (Cadence?)
I have the foot pod for the Garmin 305 - I also follow Ken's Evolution running.
I periodically use the foot pod to monitor my run cadence.
Works well both outside as well as indoors. (If running outdoor - basically if the 305 detects a GPS signal then it confirms that you are using it outdoors)
I have the cadence on my display so I can refer to it during a run.
For me, it is worth it.

I presume you mean Forerunner 305, correct? (It bugs me that Garmin has the edge and forerunner, both with 305 designations)
I've always wondered if it transmitted the same way as the cadence sensor for the edge series. I use an Edge 305 even when running (just carry it) and would like to see stride rate.

Yes - The Forerunner 305.

+1 on RV's post for me.
I use it both indoors and out and like getting Speed and Cadence indoors and Cadence as extra beni when outdoors.
It's a small pod, weighs very little and I hardly even notice it and am glad I got it.

I'm basically wondering if the foot pod for the Garmin Forerunner 305 (like this) can give you running cadence. I'm trying to implement the Evolution Running, Ken Mierke style, and I'd love to be able to track/see my running cadence (maybe stride rate is a more accurate term). Has anyone used the foot pod for this, and is it possible?
Also, generally, what does everyone think of the foot pod thing? Is it worth the extra money, or is it kind of superfluous? Thanks for any replies.
