I've been trying on some wetsuits. I have yet to be able to do a side by side test of the Brand's Top of the line and a Lesser model.
Typically it seems that the biggest difference is the type of rubber that is used. The top of the line more expensive one is always listed as "our most comfortable and stretchable suit".

Soooo.... Just how much more comfortable and stretchable is this? Is it worth $200-$300 more dollars?
My current point of view on this subject is: My ability on a bike doesn't warrant me riding a top of the line bike. I can say the same about my swimming/wetsuit, save the money.

Lastly, I understand it's all about fit. I'm trying on as many brands as I have time to get to. I'm just curious about the "levels" within the brand.

Sadly I do think so, while you may not warrant a top of the line suit for speed comfort may be an issue. When I was trying on bottom of the line suits due to my build most of them were extremely restrictive and I could only do like 5 minutes in the store's pool before I was extremely fatigued and short on breath due to it being to tight around my throat and chest. When I tried on the top of the line suits, things with more stretch and such, problems went away. If you want a small vacation come down here to Tucson and go to the Tri-sports.com store as they have an endless lap pool that you can test all the different suits in =)

For something like this, I would go with the better product. Many times in my life I have gone the cheap route, only to regret it later and spend more $$ on the better quality product. Then, you have the POS sitting around doing no one any good.

I have a Desoto, and I like it. I have not worn any other suits, but mine fits well and I like the two piece concept.
