swim replacement with broken wrist
By tubing do you mean stretch cords? If not, then do stretch cords. If so, then you're already doing the best thing.

Not fast enough.
I got a gore-tex cast on my leg. Cost more, and insurance may not cover, but it didn't keep me out of the water.
Don't be so easy on yourself 'cause this one might be all that you have left
I mean stretch cords - good! I don't know if they do gore tex casts here...I am in the boonies! My hospital had to send me to another 90kms away as they don't cast at all! Thanks though.
i'm guessing then you wouldn't possibly have access to an arm bike either? if you did, that would work as well.

nope, no casts, no arm bikes! I wish!
but you can at least see the stars at night?

oh boy can we ever! Scenery we have in spades! You need to try the 70.3 in Deer Lake.
so had the cast taken off this morning due to a gold bond induced skin infection...need to get the goretex this time if I need another....
good luck with it. i broke my finger in november. the skin issues were yuck.

Stretch cords were an excellent suggestion by Matt. Don't forget to do the lower body and core exercises. Use the stretch cords by attaching them to your legs to work kicks. If you don't get the water proof cast, ask for a cast that you can remove (they make the cast and cut it on the side and reattach with velcro). This way you can use a neoprene cast with a hard insert for swimming, then switch tot he hard cast for the rest of the day.

Thanks for the advice guys. I am now in a splint and able to get in the water! Now if only the ice would melt on the lake! Happy training!

I have a hairline wrist fracture and am casted minimum 2 weeks. Any suggestions on replacement swim workouts? Cuurently I am doing a tubing workout, but curious if anyone else has tried different stuff...
