Peroneal Tendonitis
I had a case of this. In addition to what you're already doing, I'd try to see a PT and get some e-stim work done on it. It will heal faster with e-stim treatment.

e-stim? Never heard of it? Is it short for Electrical-Stimulation? What's that like, and how did it help you? Was there anything else that the PT did to help you?

electrical stim (like a tens unit) hurts a little when you start and then you get used to it. it basically masks the pain. some think it has restorative qualities; i'm not so sure based on my experience with it.
it hurts a lot over a bone; don't go there!
Yep, electric stimulation, but medically termed as Iontophoresis. A PT will set up electrodes on your foot and probably give you between 10-15 minutes of it per session. The electrodes also have cortisone (or some other anti inflammatory) on them too. The electrical impulses help drive it into the aggravated area. It just tingles a little bit. The PT should also give you some exercises to do at home to for stretching and strength.
Not sure what medical specialist tri-ac saw, but it shouldn't hurt. :^) I had Ionto done for a shoulder injury and foot injury (peroneal tendonitus) and I loved it. It should only tingle, and the PT should make sure of that.
Thanks for the advice guys. If it stays bad for another couple of days, I will definitely look into it...

It depends a lot of what kind of stim you're getting and what the purpose of the stim is. There are a bunch of different kinds, and some of them do hurt pretty bad.
Also, it is not required to use iontophoresis, it is possible to get stim without any kind of medicine and it will still help with the pain. It all depends on the type of injury/pain, and when it occurred compared to when it's treated.
It seems to have cleared up pretty nicely for me. It's still mildly uncomfortable, but I am back to walking/working pretty much normally. I ran about a mile on the treadmill this morning, and it wasn't too bad. It was a little upset at me after I ran, so I think that I am going to take it easy for a couple more days. I will try another run on Friday and see how I feel. I really want to give this time, because I can't afford for this injury to stick around for longer than it has to. I guess in the meantime, I will focus on swimming since I had been slacking-off on that a little bit. It actually seems to help anyway.
I might not be able to run right now, but I can go as hard as I want in the water, and not have to worry about saving some for a run workout later.

Does anyone experience/have experience with Peroneal Tendonitis? I seem to have picked up a bad case in my right foot from my half-mary on Saturday. I'm trying to rest as much as possible, but, well, I gotta work, so I can't just sit around and ice it.
Are there any braces/taping techniques I could look into? My little elastic ankle brace didn't seem to help. I am obviously not running on it until it feels a little better, but right now it's painful to walk and I have to go to class/work so I'd like something that's a better solution than NSAIDs.
BTW, yes, I saw a doctor and had x-rays, and she said there was no sign of a stress fracture or anything like that.
