Don't you love it when....
sweet dude. ya, it's little progresses in training like that that keep you motivated and pushing. congrats.
I love it when I set out for a 90 min (minimum) run and I end up only getting 17 minutes out of my legs. Now I'm sitting on my couch bitter. I think I will try again this evening.
So grrr to you :P
Some times the "bad" days are great days. It happens about once a week for me. As my former XC coach said, "you gotta go on your bad days" and this is why. You never know what can happen.
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
I did this last week. I went for a 4 mile run at lunch, from work, felt like garbage..but pushed through. When I looked at the watch, I was really surprised at how well I did. Made me skip around the rest of the day!
Sometimes when I start out feeling absolutely horrible I end up having a great ride/run. Just keep this experience in the back of your mind and summon it during the hard part of a race.

On the other hand I hate when I feel like a champ and end up puking halfway through. I sound like Debbie Downer. Congrats on making your goals!
last saturday about two o clock i was complaining about needing to ride and not feeling like it. i went anyways... i had to come in at 7:30 and switch to my road bike so i had lights! it was awesome.
I've had one of each this week - a swim that started out feeling terrible and ended up great, and a run that started out awesome and ended up just feeling bashed and quitting early. I definitely prefer the former!

Don't you love it when you get back from a run that absolutely kicked the tar out of you and you look at your running data only to find out you actually did about 1000x times better then you thought. Just did that did a run that I felt slow and that I was working too hard (3.5 mi each way out and back that rises 1400ft). Only to find out my pace was just under my goal as was my HR, so I'm super happy. It's the little things I suppose anyone else feel the same?
