I think all the time on the trainer this year has really paid off!

I'm a warm weather rider, I don't like riding in the cold, and yesterday it was in the 50's, and a perfect day for a ride.

Got on the bike and rode a 10 mile loop, that I've been riding for the past several years, and WOW!!! Areas where I could go 25mph, I was hitting 29-30, and the two climbs instead of 12mph I was doing 16!

Are the guys going to be surprised when I show up for the racing season...

I also ran a 15K this weekend, and took 3 minutes off my PR, ran a 1:12:43, or 7:49 miles. Things are really looking up for the Duathlon Season this year!

I got back to back outside rides in this weekend, first time outdoors in forever. However faced with temps in the 30's and low 40's and being bundled all up and with Sunday being windy as all get out my avg speed was way below what it was during the summer. But it was still good to be outside!

I had my first real outdoor ride this past weekend and it was wonderful. Right about 50 degrees and sunny. I was able to cover 40.3 miles in 2hrs10minutes...not too shabby for the first time out. Plus I felt good enough to throw the bike in my car afterward and run 2.5 miles at about 7:50/mile pace.

It was definately the highlight of my training this spring. It was also a huge motivation boost.
