I may have looked at it incorrectly, but it looks like I'm ranked 1636 in my AG, lol. A real confidence booster that was

I'm pretty sure I was close to the top whatever it was.

i took 33 minutes to swim 400m in a lake

when you can't breathe, rankings don't matter much ;)

It is better to hurt from doing something than from doing nothing...

I am similarly awesome. I'm going to refrain from giving you the specifics so as not to be accused of bragging.

I try to never look, I cry easily, but if I did look I'm sure I would be ranked somewhere between 'uncontrolled laughter' and 'dude, you suck'

Do you have to be a USAT member to get ranked? I did a USAT sanctioned race last year, but my name doesn't come up when I do a search. I know I had to pay a non-member fee, which I think actually made me a member for the weekend or something like that.

No matter how you slice it, I know I won't look as impressive as catwood! Good Job!!

You have to be an annual member and do at least 3 sanctioned races to be ranked.

and of course, Congrats CAtwood

Not sure what "score" is, and if higher or lower score is better, but mine is 64.85802. My gender grading was blank. I guess they don't give a number for that when you're as low on the charts as I am.

Either way, I'd say I improved from the previous year since 2007 was my first year.

I had a huge jump from 06 to 07. I went crazy with training and commitment level.
2006 - Ranked 151 in region and 903 overall - 70.29
2007 - Ranked 58 in region and 299 overall - 82.51

That's the kicker. You can do 10 Ironmans a year and not be ranked. I think the 'rankings' are a scam (sorta). You have to race their races, and do at least three of them. Not that my rankings would be that good anyways, or that those who posted aren't. It is one way to see if you are improving.

I get a pct. (77.8) but I don't get a ranking #. No region info either. I must be doing something wrong.

Nice year Catwood.

I was 123/1584 (AG 30-34) HM Points: 76.96 Gender Grade: 84.66

So, what do the points, gender grade, and HM mean (some people have AA next to their name)? I tried reading what they explained and it made no sense to me.

Set goals...... but be here now. Enjoy the ride to the finish line.

AA= All American HM= Honorable mention. Both automatically qualify for Age Group Nationals.

Points are basically just a percentage grade of your performance. 100% is what the top ranked USAT competitor "would" have ran for that race.

Gender Grading is basically an adjustment to a females score to give some comparison as to how her rankings stack up against those of the opposite sex in their age group.

I was pretty surprised where I ended up, especially in the ultra division. The rankings are kinda like the BCS in college football. You never know how things would really turn out until you go head to head.

This year- 77.59/ 540
Last year- 77.85/ 620- which is really odd- seeing as I won my age group twice in 2007 and was never out of the top 5, even at larger races.
2005- 71.37/ 817

EDIT- According to the final ranking spread sheet, I ended up 540th. I guess they just havent gotten around to finalizing the online part yet. The difference in the onlin and final I guess is the final excludes those without 3 USAT races.
