training schedule
Well I'm not a coach and don't play one on TV! :)
Really hard to look at one week of a schedule and make too many recommendations. Really depends on what your overall schedule looks like and how it builds upon itself. Also not much info on your capabilities. Past race performances etc. Is this time goal based on previous races?
Are you following any specific training plan?
For an IM schedule - with a target of 11 hours - looks a little light across the board. But again if this is week one of a 20+ week plan - it may be fine. Really not enough info to make much of a judgment.
In my experience when a coach has asked for my basic week it was so that he could get an idea what my free time was like, and what days I liked to do what, so that he could confirm to that. With that in mind, you might want to just send what your actual week is like, and not change it to match what other people do.
If you are looking to make sure you have enough of the other sports for an IM, well that is different :) You definitely need to increase that long bike and learn to love running! With a marathon about 2 months away and a 4-4.5 time goal I'd be concerned with a long run of 12 miles.
I have to ask... why you are hiring a coach for a different sport now? IM training is a big time and physical commitment, and it seems like you might want to wait until that is over for a cycling specific coach when it sounds like your swim and run could use the focus right now.

Be careful with spinning, it gives you a different workout than what you get on the bike. Also, they are "cardio" classes whereas not all of your training will have that same objective.
I have a Johnny G Pro in my garage. During the winter last year, I spent a lot of time on the spinner instead of the trainer or out on the road. What I found is that it helped with speed but hindered endurance. This year I've spent very little time on the spinner.

Great points all,, I have done 2 IMCA at 6 hrs both,( not a fan of the sand or very cold water) did unofficial Vineman at 12hrs (preran day before). The marathon is there to force me to keep the running long as it's a big run 24,000 people or so , or some crazy number like that.. good bands every couple miles..
The coach I am talking to understands that IM is my focus this yr, He is a former TDF rider and my friend swears by him and my friends results are pretty darn convincing. and lastly I am more or less following the Trifuel 36 week training plan and am inthe local tri club too..
I am changing my focus slowly to cycling as my knee has bone on bone and my right leg is about 3/4 inch shorter ( My right leg has had compound femur and 2 breaks in my fibula 2-3 knee surgeries), gotta love racing motocross back n the day.. I orginally got into TRis from boredom in cycling all the time,, currently have heel insert of about 1/2 inch
I dont have the speed on the run to do the short course, and it feels harder on my knee when I really push the run

I am thinking about hiring a cycling coach and he asked for my typical training schedule,,so I thought I might post it here to see what else you guys do,, ( am a much better cyclist than I'll ever be as a runner so looking at Masters cycling at CAT 3)
Saturday I currently ride the bike club ride of 48 miles, 22 mph average.. a moderately agressive hilly ride here in San Diego
Sunday long run ( 12 plus miles ) then swim ( well supposed to)
Mondays 30 minute spin easy to moderate at the gym then swim 30 minutes
Tuesday running track work out 3 to 4 miles very hard
Wed evening 1 hour spin class hard to very hard
Thursday off ( yeahh)
Friday 30 to 40 minute treadmill run easy to moderate ,,swim 30 minutes
rinse and repeat.
I usually take an easy week every 3 -4 weeks.
The only races I have committed to are
Rock and Roll marathon June 1 st, 4 to 41/2 hours target ( not a primary race)
Ironman AZ Nov 08 target 11 hours to 12 hours ( anything under 12 1/2 would be good) did I mention that I really really dont like to run long
