Has anyone ever experienced 'more than usual' hip and knee discomfort with their gas pedal leg as you increase your running duration and intensities during training? Currently I am driving to work and spend a little over an hour in rush hour traffic and have noted some increased discomfort in that leg.

I avoid that by taking my motorcycle as often as possible.

Yeah, I do. When I drive my fiance's car instead of mine (his is a lower position) I get it more in glute. In my car I can feel it in hip and sometimes quad or hammy.
Why yes, I have had that...
Why yes, I have had that... all kinds of things can be going on. How much do you stretch? Leg discomfort while driving/training heavy could be the hammies or a problem with your sciatic nerve, which you're sitting on..I've found stretching a little before I get in the car helps.
Could be the angle of your leg from the seat to the pedal.
All kinds of weird things pop up when you increase duration/intensity. As your body adapts to training the pains usually go away. At least they do for me.
OK. Kind of glad to see Im
OK. Kind of glad to see Im not the only one. I stretch glutes, hams DAILY. Religiously even. But this one kind of irritates me in the hip socket. And yes this definitely coincides with an upswing in intensity. A single Advil knocks the discomfort out but just paying close attention to anything else.

i actually changed cars because of this...a year later I had back surgery. the clutch movement along with the car geometry caused me to hold a weird position while driving. now i commute by bike, but the "new" car fits
at 6-5, my car purchase decisions are made not necessarily on aesthetics or performance or price, as much as interior geometry...
make sure you get fitted. fit is the most important thing for cars.... LOL

Yes I can see this at the dealer:
OK so whats the seat angle set at? Can I get it any further forward while dropping the steering wheel? End up driving like Batman..
