Just wanted to stop in and say hi. I'm new to the site and new to the sport. I am planning on 3 sprint Tris this summer followed by an Olympic (hopefully) to cap it all off. So far training is going well. And, I just got a new bike---super pumped. I went with a Trek 1500 from the LBS. Super excited to get out on that.

Thank you to all posters---love the information and the tips. Good luck to all that are currently training!
John

Welcome to the site. I'm from PA, but you have to respect Iowa Wrestling. Brands is bringing back the Gable days.

Welcome! Go ISU Cyclones!

I started competing in triathlons 2 years ago and fell in love with the sport. Because heart disease runs in both sides of my family, I figured that training and competing in tris will help delay the inevitable.

I will definitely agree on the Brands comment---he's definitely bringing us back to the glory days. It's always great to be a Hawkeye, even in the downtimes. I fee bad for the Cyclone fan :)

If anyone is competing around IL let me know what races are must-enters and which are fun! Hope to talk with you all throughout this season and beyond.
