Hello! :)
Hello and welcome to trifuel. Glad to see you're crossing the line from spectator to racer-- it's more fun on this side.
Best of luck in your training and races.

Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.
The biggest one I'd ever do is an Olympic...
Yup... heard that before. Next thing you know, you'll be posting... "I'm doing my first IM and..."
Welcome!

I'm also training for the Kentucky Derby Half-marathon in April.
That should be a really fun race - you'll enjoy it. I've not done it myself, but Louisville is my hometown so my mom and a bunch of people I know do it every year and always say it's a great time. Some pretty tough hills for a road run, though!
Awesome. welcome aboard. sounds like a busy year ahead. training for a tri and half marathon will help keep things balanced. enjoy the journey.
Welcome to the site! If you loved being a spectator, you'll really love participating - good luck!

Go XU (I have to be a fan since my wife went there).
Have fun at your new races this year. Last year I did my first 10 mile, first half marathon, first sprint, and first olympic distance. This year I'd like to do my first marathon and first half ironman. I'm addicted to newer and longer distances, and I hope you have just as much fun as I'm having trying new races.

Welcome! After two months of training in my first season, I'm wondering if the oympic distances I'm doing will be enough. A half IM is looking pretty good now!
I guess I should give you a hello to since I do technically know you. See you in about an hour after I stop at the grocery
Thanks for all the "welcomes" -- I'll keep you updated on my triathlon progression. I've seen the triathlon distance "addiction" grow in my fiance, his sister, and his dad, but we'll see about me...

This is technically my fiance, by the way...

Just "technically" ? ;)
Welcome! I'm glad you are having fun with it. My fiance is rarely on here, but I'll be getting married in Sept :)

Hello all
My fiance (jsk85) introduced me to this site recently. He and his family do triathlons together and after years of being a tri-spectator (and one mini-tri of my own) I decided to try to do some more triathlons this summer. The biggest one I'd ever do is an Olympic, but I'm just doing Sprints this summer. I'm also training for the Kentucky Derby Half-marathon in April.
I'm currently in grad school at Xavier University in Cincinnati. I'm earning my Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I'm getting married in August, just before my second year of grad school. I graduate August 2012 and, yes, that is a ridiculously long time away from now.
I'm not athletic. At all. BUT I love the atmosphere of triathlons and I NEED events to motivate me to work out. Thus, I am doing a Sprint tri in June and another in September of this year. Just wanted to say hello!
