As we continue to grow, we attract more people that join solely to promote or plug something. While the Trifuel community appreciates new and shared information, it becomes increasingly difficult to filter what information is good and what is not. Therefore we've adopted a policy of deleting all advertising/spam type posts. This is not a new policy, but something absolutely necessary to maintain the quality which we believe our forum and site represents. If I let one person advertise then I have to let everyone and then it becomes a junk forum.

That said, if you do wish to share something, join our community first and participate in our forums for more than "0" days and "1" post :) Build a relationship with us and then share your info and not in a "infomercial" cut and paste post that ends up on every other forum out there. Unknown and anonymous posts have little credibility, but a post from a participating regular member has value and credibility.

For a copy of our Forum Rules:

Please remember and respect our community. This isn't a place for free advertising. This is a community of athletes sharing information and passions for the sport of Triathlon. Thank you.

+1.

And even though I hate to say it, this post is probably more effective than me calling everyone a lousy troll spammer. Way to keep it professional, Tribro.

BTW, We do offer advertising, or purchase through Google adwords, or utilize our free Local, Gear, and Events guides. Or send press releases to info @ trifuel dot com.

I don't know ChunkyB, I thought your anti-troll campaign was pretty effective.

Why, thank you. I'm nothing if I'm not offensive.

Oh, wait, did you say effective or offensive.

I see what you did there. You are advertising Trifuel... Sneaky, very sneaky.

+47

i've only been a member for a few months and have already been attacked by a number of people in the spam wars.......granted they were only retaliating from my blunt and occasionally sarcastic accusations that they were spammers.......but shouldn't everyone just let me accuse them of disengenuiness with absolute impunity?

I agree wholeheartedly about the regular members opinions meaning something more. I already listen to you guys and give you a level of deference I don't give to advertisers.

;)

As an example, since ChunkyB found out I was saving for a bike, he sold me these beans for only $500......all I have to do is plant them and they'll form a huge stalk that i can climb into the heavens and find some golden eggs worth million of dollars.....now instead of being a few hundred bucks from buying a cervelo p2, I'll be a millionaire.........if I had seen that in an ad I would have thought it was a lie......but since it came from a forum member, I'm a believer

thanks chunkyb

in exchange for 10 shares of enron stock I will part with 1 bean, but only becuase you are a friend.....but keep in mind, this is not charity, many people think enron is about to go through the roof

Is trying to sell a used bike, aero bars, or HR watch advertising? I'm wondering if it's possible to post personal items for sale?

Ya. no problem. anything personal is cool. charities, for sale, etc. Just needed to post this as was getting a lot of registrations just to post their company products or services. Was trying to keep some of the spam out. But ya, please feel free to post your items. post with a FS: in the title and in the gear forum is probably best.

Question - my race club is sponsoring some free tri clinics in my area. I'd like to get the word out, particularly since they are doing one for for kids ages 7 - 14. Do you have regional forums? If not is there some other forum that it would be okay to post these in?

I'm not a super active participant but I do come around from time to time.

Thanks!

We don't have regional at this time. I'd post in the general forum and maybe put the region, city, tri club as tags. Totally cool to spread the word on stuff like that.
