Out of curiosity, most of the tri apparel I see people wearing is black. The cover of the tri mag I just got has Chris Lieto all in white. White reflects heat and is cooler than black. Is the reason we don't see more white is due to hygene ? Anybody know of any brands that carry white tri tops and shorts like Chris Leito's ?

I believe it is more fashion than function, some clearly warranted (women in white after the swim is probably not the best option). Black or dark tend to be the normal but you see more light colors and white in the pro ranks especially at Hawaii. Chris, Torborn, a few others. Definitely makes a difference on those long hot days. I haven't seen any white shorts actually, but finding a white top shouldn't be too tough. I wore this 2XU top in red last year, but they have white. Very comfortable and form fitting. I have a white/blue TYR tri top.... one time the swim was in a lake with reddish brown stained water; my tri top now has a nice reddish brown tint to the white portions. Plus with shorts of any other color except black, your junk is not as discreet.

Oh yeah, Tribro, you're going down you spammer.

All I can say is at a sprint tri I did last year, there was a fellow clydesdale who was in dire need of some groundskeeping, and he did the swim in white tri shorts (or maybe they were just under armor). I've never been closer to quitting triathlon.

I have and really like a white tri top (it is the old Trifuel one, actually). But yeah, it is hard to keep clean, and I have to be sure to wear a dark colored sports bra under it for post-swim.

He was in my oly wave and he was wearing only white under armour. Goal number one was to swim fast enough that I didn't have to get out of the water right after him.

I did a sprint a couple years ago where a guy pushing 275 if I had to guess decided he'd race the whole event in a speedo. My fiancee found herself behind him on the bike...I know why she hasn't done another tri since.

Speaking of which: where happened to the Trifuel store? I was looking around the site and couldn't find anything.

And back on-topic: I can understand non-white bottoms, but the tops not as much. Just a style thing?

That pic was of the national team of Poland. If your going to run your colors up the pole, at least do it with pride...not one of them is smiling!

Here's the shop. Only a handful of stuff left in the apparel, though plenty of hats and visors.

That would be my guess, and my reason for wearing dark colors. I cycle with a Euro snob who wears white bibs and it makes me nervous. You know, they guy with the carbon/ti blend Italian frame, Campy parts, laughing at the Shimano sheep. Jerk.
