Underpronation
I underpronate or suppinate,(landing on the outside of my foot) I recently found a good running store, the guy made me try on neutral shoes with cushioning, They let me take each pair outside and run around on them for a while to see which one felt best, I chose the Asics Gel Cumulus 9, its an average shoe, moderately priced, I have always been an asics person though, so I would try out different brands, but I think you want to be looking for a neutral shoe, If you are fortunate to find a shop that will let you take the shoes out for a while that would be better. It was a difficult process(for me) finding a good store, where the people actually run and aren't interested in pushing a particular brand on you. good luck.
I also suppinate - I went with the Asics Gel Cumulus 9 as well for awhile. Nice shoe. but they still weren't right for me - I have been running with the Pearl Izumi SyncroPace since October - they have been great for me. Note that I do run on my forefoot - not a heel striker.

I can't recommend anything because I'm in the opposite boat. But I would just echo the advice, and then some: it's good to find a shop that lets you test-run; it's even better if they watch you walk and run in the shoes and help you determine whether the shoe is doing the right thing for you (and they really know what they're talking about). Since the wrong kind of shoe can so easily put you on the fast track to injury (been there, done that), it's nice to combine what you feel with an external and objective view. We have the ultimate shop here in C-ville (Ragged Mountain) and I wish I could send everyone there. If you can't find that kind of shop, maybe bring a fellow runner with you who can watch you in the shoes as you try them. Don't feel bad about making them bring you lots of shoes. And above all, if anything doesn't feel right once you run in them, take them back and try again.
Best of luck!
I also suppinate BIG time, and have used the Adidas Supernova Cushion and Adistar. While they were both comfortable, they all wore through the outside edge within a few months. Since then I've moved over to the Nike Pegasus, and they have really lasted well (through the last two months of Ironman training, Ironman, and all winter!). Beyond that, I've heard Saucony makes a good shoe for suppinators.
Whatever shoe you get, make sure the outside edge (where your foot will strike) is black - the darker the tread the longer it will take to wear through to the white - at which point the shoes are toast. Good luck! :)
I underpronate as well and have tried Asics Cumulus and Nimbus VII, prefering the Nimbus. I also have had good luck with Addidas and, surprisingly, a Reebok shoe, the DMX (which is the old model, I don't know what the current replacement shoe would be).

I was wondering if anyone had any good shoe suggestions for a person with underpronation. If so that would be great.
