I signed up for Athletes for a Cure this year. When you reach certain financial goals, you get certain things. For example, I received a race kit. The next goal marker entitles me to a 15 minute phone conversation with one of the following Pros (if available).

* Brian Lopes
* Danelle Ballengee
* Dean Karnazes
* Eric 'EJ' Jackson
* Karen Smyers
* Michellie Jones
* Simon Lessing
* Steve Fisher
* Tao Berman

I'm guessing I'd pick either Dean, Michellie, or Simon. But what to ask?

Who would you pick and what would you ask?

"Michellie, Tribro thinks you're hot and wants to know if you want to hang out in Bend, OR." :)

I would pick Dean (the ridiculous ultra runner)......i would briefly introduce myself and then ask him a series of increasinly awkward and uncomfortable questions about how ripped he is and how good he looks (think snl)........oh man it would be awesome......then I would record it and post it on the trifuel forum

It is better to hurt from doing something than from doing nothing...

First Triathlon (400m/20k/2.75mile) 1:39.15 including 33 minutes in the water

Dean Karnazes and ask him, "What are you running from?"

This is absolutely brilliant! "Dean... I love it when the sweat glistens off of your rock hard body...."

In one single moment, you've managed to take my philanthropic quest and turn it into a childish fantasy. Excellent.

Ha. Michellie was actually up here last summer for a talk so we've already met ;)
I managed Dean's first web site so got to know him a little and he's very cool. I haven't met Simon so he would be very interesting to talk to I think. He's been doing this for a long time but only took on Ironman (with success) for a short period and then went back to half distances. Would be interesting to pick his brain on what he's learned over the years, changes to training when taking on Ironman, changes to training as he's gotten older...
