Thank God. I have been waiting for months to get back outside during the week after work. I ride with Cat III and IV roadies and they hammer a 40k course right after work. Speed work starts Tuesday!

What club do you ride with? Carrollton?

I'm looking forward to the extra daylight, but not the early swim on sunday!

Yeah!! The more sun the better. I've got March break, so I can ease into the early swims!

Hooray for daylight! I'm really pasty after the winter and need some color.

I run at 6:00 am. It was just starting to get light at 6:30 and I even had some beautiful sunrises. Now I will be plunged back into the darkness for a month. On the other hand, maybe I will now actually take my bike off the trainer after work and go for a ride.

I am with you gfd. Kinda a bummer for those who do stuff in the morning --it will start to lighten up pretty quickly though.

yee haw! Can't wait for the afternoon rides! The Computrainer helps, but nothing beats being outdoors.

yeah I don't like it since I'm also a morning workout person. It was just getting light enough to get in a solid ride before work!

Wow, I'm surprised to hear there are so many afternoon/evening folks. I thought one of the marks of a triathlete was the 4:30am alarm clock. Shows what I know.

I'm not excited for early morning darkness.

I'm so used to running with a flashlight at 05:00 that a couple more weeks won't matter - It will be great to get the bike off the trainer and on the road in a month or so - assuming the snow/ice finally melts and then get some nice rain to wash all the salt and sand off the roads...

"Open water swimming is not far off! Whoo!" I wish! Not around here - that is easily 2+ months off yet...

This is great news for me. I haven't been doing morning workouts, but I often try to squeeze two into the afternoon. With longer periods of daylight I will be able to do that pretty effectively from now on! Swim at noon and bike from whenever until ~6:30....sounds great to me!

My main deterrent from doing morning workouts is the fact that it's been about 15 degrees in the morning lately. Even if it was bright as day outside, I'd still be on the rollers.

I'm a morning workout person too, but the pure sanity of going home with daylight gets me excited. Plus, after work is the only time I get to do stuff with my son during the week.

I'm not particularly looking forward to it. I lifeguard 6:50-8:50am M-F for my school and I can only just now finally squeeze in a short run beforehand... Stuff always comes up in the evening, especially when its light, but I'm not going to have extra orchestra rehearsals, study sessions, labs, dates/social stuff, people asking for math help, people wanting to beat me up with foam swords, etc at 6am... though I guess most people that know me don't even ask any more because they know I'm pretty much always "out biking".

I work overnights, so this is sweet, sweet music to my sunlight-deprived ears.

How much do I love Daylight Savings? Better that Bastille Day? Yep. Flag Day? You know it. Guy Fawkes Day? Mmm, it's close but I'm going to say yes. Columbus Day? Take-your-daughter-to-work Day? Take-your-daughter-to-Columbus Day? Yes, Yes, Yes!!! Arbor Day? No.

There is nothing more worthy of celebration than Arbors.

Both. I am lucky enough to live in an area (Dallas/Fort Worth, the fourth largest metro area in the US) where you can find cycling, running, swimming and tri teams in every neighborhood at every level. I suspect a lot of triathletes cycle with roadie teams who train during the week after work. And masters swim teams start early, 5 and 6am.

Nope, not a headlamp just a small hand-held mini-flashlight - tho it puts out a strong beam. Living a ways out in the country - no street lights or really any lights at all. Still way better than the treadmill - even with snow and ice and negative temps.

WaaaHoooo. No I wont have to lead the pack with my neon white legs leading the way, providing the light to see the pot holes from the ice and snow.
