Best Weekend EVER

I spend Tuesday through Thursday in San Diego with Cervelo getting to test ride their bikes and see their wind tunnel testing and engineering presentations.

Then Mike and I went for an early morning mtn bike ride Saturday. We ended up ditching the bikes in a bush and hiking up to a favorite waterfall (yeah, in bike shoes). And I left wearing....

!!!!! Yup, he proposed You know you have found the right one when the proposal comes during a ride in almost-rain, early morning light, with helmet hair, and on a fun unplanned side trail :)

More pics!

From chainrings to diamond rings- what more could you ask for?

Congratulations!

Shiny rocks! Congrats, Cali Girl! Lucky Bastard.

Grats Kylie!!!!!!

Did you know that carbon fiber and diamonds are made of the same stuff? That Cervelo is pretty, but I think the rocks have got it beat!

I dunno... I love my rocks, but also my R3 (not the P3C pictured there... I was just on it for the day).

And thanks all! I'm sooooo excited!!!

Awesome, congratulation!
Also, I bet your fiance totally planned that 'completely-unplanned' hike up to a waterfall. Classy.

Super congrats! That sounds awesome.

Very exciting! tops any ride I've ever done... hmmm-there was that century with beads, no ring tho ;)

much happiness to you both!!!

sweet, that rocks! congrats!

Projects: Trifuel.com, BASE Performance

Congrats!

congrats you you and the hubby to be.

Congrats to both of you. What a great way to get engaged.

Congratulations Kylie!!!! I'm so happy for you and Mike - all the best to you both!

Nice bike!!!!! -Just kidding. Congrats!!!!!

That is great - Congrats!

Super for you! Congrats!

Will the wedding be as bike centric as the proposal? Perhaps you could ride off with cans tied to the back of your bikes.

Congratulations Kylie!

congrats!

Congratulations! Nice pictures and story - may the future be as bright as those diamonds.

Congrats, Kylie. That sounds like a super fun proposal.

Congratulations!
What's a tri wedding gonna look like? Spandex for all the bridesmaids?

And Coke cans tied to a bicycle for two..

That's a weekend you'll remember. Congratulations.

Looks very aero, - and the bike looks fast too!

Will it go on over the cycling gloves?

Geoff
wonder if the wedding will live up to the engagement,
how about 5am, Kona, before getting numbered?

I left the HR strap home, but I did have my Garmin on ;)

There will definitely be some bike-ish components. I think in the favors and in the leaving :) But we haven't ironed it all out yet.

It fits in the gloves (from the ride home) and it will probably stay at home on most rides.

The wedding will be a local thing I think, outdoors in the area where we live.

Thanks all! We are soooo excited :)

congrats and wish you the best!

Congratulations!

That's wonderful!!! Wish I would have thought of something like that when I proposed to my wife. She asked me if the three diamonds were for swim, bike, and run or past, present, and future.

Oh, Kylie...that is so sweet..(snif) I think that's great. (snif) My best to you both.

(I'll keep side comments about bridesmaids and black lycra to myself.)

Congratulations Kylie! All the best wishes!

I see a chocolate cheese cake wedding cake in your future...decorated as a Zipp disk.

Congratulations!! I am married almost seven years, ( one kid.) You know you have truly found your life partner when that person pushes all the right buttons. My wife is the most wonderful woman in the world, and when I am down (fortunately that does not happen much) she knows just how to pick me up. And when I feel a bit too full of myself (those moments are more frequent) she can tactfully bring be back to earth.

Way to go, and I want to see some pictures of the wedding party, decked out in tri suits!

Congratulations!!!

WOOO HOOO Congrats!

Congratulations!!!, but lets be honest, what was the better part of the weekend, test riding the bikes or getting engaged.

Hmm.... I really like the Soloist SLC. But since my R3 is still almost as new as a test ride I think I'll go with the engagement :)

I kept passing up this thread, but I am glad that I finally decided to read it. Congratulations to you both!

Now, get to making the plans for "Kylie's Wedding Day 5k"...

will training plans be issued with all the invitations?

You people need to stop giving me great ideas! We are considering having it at one of the lakes in the area with running and biking around it... ;)

My hubby is a duathlete and my engagement ring and my wedding ring both fit under my bike gloves by design! Our invitations were hand-created by a good friend and featured a guy who looks like my husband and a woman who looks like me on a tandem bike.

Wow that's very special :) Mine fits under the gloves, but I still am not sure if I'll wear rings when exercising all the time.

I usually don't wear my ring when exercising. I use half-finger bike gloves most of the time, and my ring actually fell off once when riding, and luckily I found it. The gloves actually kind of push it off my finger.

my ring is actually too big since I became a triathlete. i take it off for swimming and lifting weights (because it falls off or hurts under the bar), otherwise it's always on.
i definitely feel odd taking it off in the gym before working out...like some cheesy gym character on the make

? Top
