Biking speed
Bike more, climb hills, intervals and perfect your pedaling. Obviously without seeing you pedal, I have no idea as to what you're doing. But you want to make sure you're not just stomping down. I think in the book "Going Long" they state you shouldn't think of pedaling as an up and down motion. Think of pedaling as horizontal, moving your feet from 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock. This helps in creating a smooth consistent pedal stroke. But honestly, just bike more. That helps a lot.

A few recommendations:
Make sure you establish a base period in your training (4-6 weeks of consistent cycling at aerobic level). Once you have built a base, start riding on your big ring (52), and get accustomed to this. You will notice you cadence may drop a bit, but it will start building the necessary strength in your legs while increasing cruising speed. Continue to shoot for at least an 80-85 rpm cadence. Include interval training once a week, and if possible, train with a fast group of riders once a week. Remember, always follow up hard training sessions with an easy recovery training session next day.
Finally, make sure to include a weight lifting day once per week as well. This strenght building program to specifically include squats, leg extensions, leg curls, and calf raises. Finish it off with a few core exercises (situps, roman chair leg lifts, and back extensions). Make sure you attain 15 reps per set. This high rep count will insure you're achieving strength stamina, will refraining from bulking up with too much muscle mass.
I'd love to get faster on the bike also, and there's some nice suggestions here. However, they all seem to include a lot of work. Is there a pill I can take to help me go faster?

EPO, HGH, Testosterone, and Meth. I don't recommend taking them all at once though. :)

My suggestion only requires a bit of work... it depends on how big a hill you want to go down, but I guess you could even get a ride to the top if you want. Do you have a bike rack? Because if you do, then my idea is pretty easy...
Ride a single speed every where you go. Has made me a lot faster and saved me tons of money on gas.
If your going to do something wrong enjoy it.

You could always put flame stickers on your bike like those ricer cars. I hear they add like 10 HP!

I am a big fan of weight lifting and have been doing it off and on for the better part of 20 years. Never serious and never to bulk up but rather just as a main part of my workout. I think this recomendation is right on track, but I have a hard time believing that one weight lifting session per week would add any bulk to your frame.
Pain is the sensation of weakness leaving the body!

I would have to say the biking leg of the triathlon is my weakest of the three. In my first triathlon I got fist in my age group but that was just because I did the swim really fast and did decent on the run but on the bike I got murdered and I thought I was doing alright. Does anyone have a workout plan or just some tips that could help me get faster on the bike. When I bike I usually average 18mph.
its on like donkey kong
