Looking for some new motivational songs ; )
No music...I prefer to run with no music because I can calm myself down, relax, and just run instead of having to fiddle with changing songs or turning it up. Biking with music is just stupid...and swimming, well I don’t know. I don’t have any cool equipment that would allow me to do this...So my opinion is no music is the way to go...
my newest song that motivates me is "the pretender" by the foo fighters. fantastic song.
i like to run with songs unless i am doing a specific race training workout (obviously you cant race with music). i actually do bike with one earphone in (opposite the traffic so i can hear cars, people, etc.). i keep the music low enough that it does not drown out any of the noises around me, but i can still hear it.
Check my sig. "The Melting Point of Wax" by Thrice is kind of like my theme song for triathlon. It's kind of based on the story of Icarus from Greek mythology. It's way motivational and it gets me pumped up every time I hear it. Thrice has a ton of great, hard, motivational songs.
If you're just looking for something hard and fast, check out AFI, Taking Back Sunday, H2O (the album FTTW is top 10 album of all time), The Ataris, Strung Out, and Thursday. There are plenty others too. If you want any specific album recommendations, let me know.
Anberlin is also awesome. Really upbeat and fast. Check out the song "Ready Fuels". It'll rock your socks off.

Don't get too used to the headphones:
"New Universal No Headphones Icon Announced"
http://www.rrca.org/news/index.php?article=2265
No headsets, radio and/or headphones are allowed as per Section 3.4(1) of USAT Competitive Rules.
Assuming you are using the iPod for gym/running training, I like "Nectar" by BT.
Try "Skyscraper" by Matrix.
Yes headphones are used in the gym or when on the trainer. Looks like I will have a busy night tonight downloading from itunes : ) Thanks for the suggestions.
"Through the Fire and Flames" and "My Spirit Will Go On" by DragonForce. Best to save those for speed work though ;-)
dragonforce...fantastic choice!
where the streets have no name by u2--great introduction, prefect before a race
sing for the moment (or whatever the main song from 8 mile is)--eminem
hells bells-ac/dc
pretty much any metallica--especially the stuff from the 1980s and early 90s
I've put together some imixes for just such questions:

and

are the two biggest one I've put together.
I also have some spinning workouts available at my blog:

I use Army running cadences. It pushes me to stay in step and while the steps aren't too big, I have to run in time to my music, other wise it really messes with my head. (7 years of Marching Band!) It's a good thing to use to get in shape because it doesn't slow down and there's something about a bunch of men yelling Army cadences. :-)

Hahaha,...well i'm in the army and i'm glad somebody like the cadences..haha...
Anything by Conflict if you're in need of aggression. Muse, Placebo, MTRKD, NIN and Smashing Pum's all have some motivatingly heroic (if not tragic) songs, too....
Greatness is only achieved by those who perpetually raise the expectations of themselves to the point where it ruins their life.

I like Cake!
Lately I have been jamming to some "Nonpoint - Bullet with a Name" to get me rolling, but you can never go wrong with the classics "Running Free by Iron Maiden" and "Balls to the Wall by Accept"

i second thrice... and third it for that matter.
the newest album probably isn't the best for running, so pick up the "artist and the ambulance".
then get some: rise against, thursday, comeback kid, and maylene and the sons of disaster.
I think its safe to say you will be automatically faster just by listening to music this awesome.
P.S. to speedemon07, maybe you misunderstood the question. See, he said what music do you like. And you dont seem to like running to music, so your answer sounds like just a reason to hear yourself.... type.
foo fighters.............one by one i been searching for something......something never comes always leads to nothing.....

+ many.
And, yes, if you're going to get a thrice album, get "Artist in the Ambulance" or "The Illusion of Safety". "See You in the Shallows" is one of the rockinest songs I've ever heard. If that doesn't get your blood pumping, then you're either dead or really lame.
I also like to listen to Harry Potter audiobooks while I run/ride. Jim Dale rocks pretty hard.
"The melting point of wax means nothing to me": Thrice

Iron Maiden. LOL.
Man, just saying the name brings back good memories. Going to the Video Store to rent the VHS of concerts to have rolling in the background during a party. I seem to remember Rush and Rainbow were also on the rental list. This would have been 1986 or so. Man time flies...
On the way home from work last night the marquee out in front of Madison Square Garden was advertising "Van Halen". So I'll list a few from 1984.
Panama
Top Jimmy
Girl Gone Bad
House of Pain. Not high cadence but it rocks.
Since I'm in my Headbangers Ball mode...
Talas: "Shy Boy" later remade with David Lee Roth when Billy Sheehan was on bass with him.
Lastly I found this to be hysterical.

You wouldn't catch me listening to this genre any other time but when I'm running, I have to listen to Gangsta Rap. Tupac being at the top of the list. All that anger gets redirected into me and makes me run faster. Plus, the pace is awesome for high cadence-short stride stuff.
Sometimes I feel the need to pull my running shorts down over my ass. Kidding.

I tend to listen to a lot of linkin park and fall out boy when running...they tend to be loud and fast and in LP's case angry which gets me fired up. Also, techno helps me get into a rhythm, not a lot of it, but "Sandstorm" is good and I also like "Rods and Cones" by the Blue Man Group
My blog: http://jsktri.blogspot.com
I agree with RAGE....ANYTHING by them is amazing for working out.
Beastie boys +
Nickleback isn't too bad
Fort Minor and Linkin Park
Buckcherry is good also.
Dragonforce....haha. That just makes me want to watch some kid on youtube tear up guitar hero. lol.

"Its an addiction"
I will put on Motorhead when doing tough interval work on the trainer.
RV
It takes a long time to get good. - Scott Molina
Slow is smooth; smooth is fast. - Rich Strauss
3 doors down, duck and run
If you got a my space account search "Prefontaine" under music. From there you should be able to download the music for his Olympic Race in Munich. Good song for training as well.

Thats what I'm talking about!! A little "Iron Fist" and "Ace of Spades" to get the heart pumping!

I am getting board with the songs that I have in my Ipod when I run so I figure I would throw it out to the forum to see what everyone else listens to to motivate them when they run, bike and I guess swim.
My two classic favorites are "Eye of the tiger" and "Gonna fly now"
