Pics: Pros at Ironman Langkawi
Wow!! Thanks for the pics.
Does anyone else think that it was strange the Faris only had one small water bottle on his bike? It appeared that everyone else had at least 2 or 3. I couldn't imagine going that long with that little water or other bevarage. Just doesn't seem right.
Thanks again.
the aid stations were spaced at every 10 km. at faris' speed (say 40 km/h for 4:30 bike time) that takes like 15 minutes. one bottle should be able to last that long (i think).
oh, and you can also head over to http://ishsal.lifelogger.com/page/2 for pictures of faris' bike which was in our apartment for a final tune up. one of the guys racing is the owner of my LBS and he was entrusted to make sure faris' bike was in tip-top condition on race day :-)
Great pics.

That aerobar/basebar looks like a Klingon battle cruiser. cool.
Langa . . . Langki . . . Langka-whatever. I think I found my next IM destination. Awesome pics.

Don't know if this qualifies as a race report, but please head over to my blog at http://www.xanga.com/Stupid_O/644034099/pros-at-ironman-langkawi.html for pictures of the pros at the recently concluded Ironman Langkawi.
Faris al-Sultan was absolutely awesome on the bike and decimated his rivals by over 20 minutes coming into T2. I think he shut it down early and ran a 3:06 marathon to come home with the win.
Belinda Granger's position on the bike is awesome (see pics). She stormed to the lead early on the bike and held off a chargin Yvonne van Vlerken on the run to win.
