Cold Weather Brick
This pretty much sounds like a brick. It's kind of the point. You're basically trying to condition your body to adjust to the sudden change. Keep doing them and your body will adapt.

I think you're saying that your run was effected because of your bike tights? I guess it could be, I don't think I've ever ran in bike tights. Try running different gear and see how it feels, it will definitely feel different than a regular run.
Yeah, I feel like the tights affected the run. I still ran an ok time for me (26 and change). I just wondered if others had odd experiences running in tights. I've done bricks in my zoot tri shorts and that was pretty good.
Can't wait for a little warmer weather. It was hard being motivated to go fast on the bike coming down the mountain in 40 degree weather yesterday! I had to constantly keep telling myself to keep going.
I just wish there was a hill somewhere near me. I am trying to figure out how get some force work in without any hills close by.

I have plenty of hills to share here in SW VA! I just have to get some better gearing so I can deal with them a little more efficiently.

Decided that today was going to be a brick day: I'm going for sprint distance, so, I did 17 m on the bike and 5k run. The temperature was a balmy 40 degrees at the house and a little colder up on the mountain. Bombing downhill was frigid!
Anyway, I got back and started the run with my son (he's a good FAST training partner) and I didn't feel bad but as I ran my legs felt very tight. About halfway thru, I realized that some of what I was feeling was my long bike tights. It really felt like they were lot letting me get the stride I'm used to making.
Has anyone else had this happen?
