Looking to pick up an inexpensive HRM for swimming. Currently I am using the Suunto T6 Advisor but the radio signal is lost through the water. The choices are bewildering and looking for some good advice.

cheers

Depends on how inexpensive you are talking about. I have a Nike Triax that I have used a few times while swimming and it has worked. I was able to get it for really cheap, but my wife works at Nike so I have a pretty sweet hookup.

Far as price goes I would say sub-100 USD.

I use RPE for swimming - costs 0$.
My HRM only on in the swim for races and even then its only so I don't have to attach the strap at T1.

If you do a 10sec pulse count right after your set you should get a pretty good idea. HR comes down quickly in the pool/water so 10secs is all you need.

Nike Triax C8, right around $100 (on the 'net or $120 in the stores). It's been great for me.

Ive been doing the post set manual but am looking to keep a more comprehensive log. Coaches orders. The Triax C8. Does this have the ability to download the log to a PC/Mac?

cheers
