YEAH---First ride in the SUN in MONTHS
I know what you mean, it's boring riding/training indoors. Yesterday my friend talked me into going for a short 1 hour ride outside. I have never been out on my bike during the winter, it's too cold here in MN. Saturday would have been a better day but we had other plans so yesterday we went. It was around 31 or 32 degrees with some wind and clouds. It was cold but it felt good to be out on the road. I'm just glad that we stopped at the half way point to get a hot chocolate to warm up a bit before going back home. Of course the sun came out when we finished. Let's just hope it warms up from here on so we/I can get out some more...

I am in the same boat as you here in the now sunny Portland, Oregon. I was able to go for a long ride this weekend and was loving every minute of it. It has seriously been about 3 months since there has been a whole day without rain. Enjoy your bike ride.
Lucky you!
Probably still another 4-6 weeks before able to get back on the road here...

I think I probably made a mistake last Saturday but man it felt good. I started out on the trainer for the first 30 minutes then I lost my mind, "I can't stand it anymore!" I unhooked the bike and put on some warm clothes and took off...25 degrees with 10-15 mph winds. Whoa that's cold, especially after already being sweaty. I got back 30 minutes later with feet that felt like bricks from being frozen and more frozen snot on my face than I would like to comment on. But, I got to ride outside, on real pavement, with real (cold) wind moving past me! Of course I did the last 30 minutes on the trainer trying to thaw out.
Did a bike race in Corvallis, OR on Sunday just for fun... I was very happy about the weather :-)

It is 56 and SUNNY!! I am heading out on a 40mile rt ride from my house over to Seattle and back, I cannot explain how excited I am. Yesterday was the first day with sun in MONTHS--REALLY. If it has not been snowing its been raining or drizzeling. Even wearing shorts if you can believe it.
P.S On a side note, anyone else do sweaty (hot) yoga? I started last week and have gone 4 times now--I am hooked. LOVE it. It is incredibly hard but I love it. Since I am still having leg pain from my stress fracture and am waiting yet another week to try running again, I figured I would try something new. Plan to continue 3-4 times a week now! Hopefully I will get a bit of flexibility out of it as I am terribly tight.
