Has anybody tried on either of these products? What kind of gains per $ ? Worth it
? I guess the longer distances the more advantage ?

Not that it really matters but out of curiosity is this legal to wear in swim meets ?

I am a decent swimmer and use the Xterra .02 Velocity speedsuit. You won't believe how fast this suit is! I can't understand why they made them legal. In a pool, I can feel, and see that I get more distance as I push off the wall. Last summer, I did a 500 swim at the same effort; 6:20 without the suit. 5:45 with the suit. I think that's about 5-7 seconds/100 faster. I would say that's a significant difference.
I think FINA just made them legal.

They are now FINA legal for meets. However I wouldn't suggest wearing the current model of either company in a pool because in the process of getting a tight enough fit in the chest you will also have a tight back. Something that is not conducive to flip turns. Later models may be pool "proofed" for this. We (xterra) are working on some options. Having swum in both suits... my vote goes to Xterra... and not just because I work for them. Less seams, Nano-SCS coating, and more stretchy liner.

I have the blue seventy pointzero3 suit. It's nice. I like how there was just a tiny little bit of buoyancy, I was able to rest my legs a little more. It was tough to judge my effectiveness because of the wave starts we had. I left in the 4th or 5th wave and had to pass many people. My time was about the same, it's was hard to say if it helped or not. Yes, probably only more useful on longer distance swims. Haven't tried any other suits.

Would not wear one in a pool, even though they have been approved, chlorine.
