Our family is interested in hosting a competitor or two at our Lake Stevens house, just one mile from the start line.
Please email us for more details: kozkrew@comcast.net

I can also provide the local's opinion on lodging or camping for anyone else who may be coming out to this area for the first time.

i'm headed up there with my wife and son and haven't worked out lodging yet.
do places fill up quickly?
i'd love to hear what it's like getting around on race day for the spectators so that my wife has some idea of what to expect

Lake Stevens itself has no hotel or motel, just one bed and breakfast.
Everett has a few hotels close, just the other side of the trestle (State Route 2)
There are many more hotels, but be careful. Many are flop houses for the drug crowd
-I work for the County Sheriff and many of my customers frequent these places
Avoid the arlington motor inn, and any place in North Everett.
If you want something fun for the family, reserve a cabin at flowing lake county park

it will also be really close to the bike route

Sorry, the link didn't work for me.
Can someone drive around Lake Stevens during race hours or does it pretty much shut down?
Is there a playground near transition? (my son is 3 (although I've been known to enjoy the swings too :) )
