Hi all -

I'm doing IM Switzerland this year and was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on hotels or places to stay? Also, this is my first IM, how many days in advance should I plan to get there?

Thanks!

Hi,
I do not know if this is an option for you, but last year we opted for camp (http://www.camping-zurich.ch/)
Decent prices, superb location (walking distance to IM village), situated near the lake,… We came on Tuesday and camp was more or less full on Friday. Next time I would certainly do the same. We had enough time for sightseeing, training, relaxing, etc.
If you need any other info send me an e-mail.

if it's your first, I'd suggest going with a company like Endurance Sport Travel, they will take care of you and any spectators going with you. we used them for our 1st IM race in Brazil and then our 2nd race in Switzerland. The take care of your airport pick-up and drop-off along with your bike, hotel, breakfast, mechanic, race day transportation to and from the race, and tours of the course and more... Doing something like this releives some of the stress, especially if it's your first. The also take care of your co2 cartridges. it's worth it. You'll get to meet others that might be in the same boat (1st timers) or experinced athletes with knowledge.

Call 610-399-4662 and talk to Ken or Abby, tell them Nick says hi (don't worry, i don't get a commision, I've used them on 3 trips)

Thanks guys!
Sounds like great options. The camp is overbooked, but Endurance sports looks like a viable option. I think it's a little expensive for non-participants? Other than that, it seems like a great way to NOT think about anything but the race.
