Spin it out on the bike for 20 to 30 minutes. It will make you feel like a new person.

+1 Light aerobic exercise is the best way to buffer lactic acid....

Getting the HR down to under 60% for a lengthy warm down makes a huge differrence. I also agree with spinning or if you pass the pool a 20 to 30 min light swim. One of the other post exercise regimines from my contact sport days was the cold hot ie rapid cooling in a pool followed by a hot spa, or shower. Not sure of the science exactly but makes you feel great.

By the way, there are several other threads that talk about lactic acid a bit more in depth...

Any tips on getting rid of lactic acid to speed up recovery after a hard run?
I seem to get a lot of stifness in my calves.
Any easy post workout routines?
I've tried ice water/cold water and it seems to work.
Any advice is appreciated.
