well happy holidays..... whats on your holiday training list for the big day..... or perhaps a "day off".

For me, i'm back home, so no bike/swim..... but heck, I can always strap on my sneaks. Probably for me a simple casual 3 miler or more if i feel up to it.

enjoy the holidays all.... don't be like me, and loss yourself in a pile of endless food.

I have the itch to get outside and run some miles.....but it's below zero. I don't think I have ever ran when it's been that cold before, do others run in these temps. Plus we got 10 inches of snow so traction would be a problem. Ah, who am I kidding, I will still attempt to run outside and run till I get too cold. I'll just try to stay close to home.

Hope all have a great day!!!!

Tim

PS: Yeah, ALL the food around, yikes! I would have to ride a century to burn off the colories from just yesterday, lol.

I got a lot of cold weather riding gear for christmas, now I just need to build up the nerve to go outside for that long

And I got a new dell mp3 player to help keep the long rides interesting :P

I hope everyone has a great christmas or holiday break!

My heatlh club was open from 7am-1pm on X-mas Day and i have never ever seen it so packed! I guess it was one of the only things open. Anyway, i ran 5.5 on the treadmill. It was soo cold outside. And then i worked the upper body. Today, im going to attempt to run outside, i think its warmed up a little.

I ran 7.5 outside. I had planned to run 10 miles, but it was about 17 degrees and my legs and toes were frozen. That is a wierd feeling. My upper body and head were sweating like crazy (lots of layers of clothes) and my lower body was frostbitten. Ah, the joys of being a Type A personality!

I took the day off and it felt great. By the time we opened presents it was time to play games then help mom with the food. I still felt stuffed this morning though so set out first thing.

I took the day off as well. Great relaxing day. I got a new nike triad HRM just in time as my old polar finally died last month. Very cool and much smaller and lighter than my old one but limited on the features (which I never used anyway). Driving back home today and will get back into training tomorrow.

Did everyone get (and give :)) what they were hoping too?

didn't really get many "presents" this year, i guess my family has kind of called an impromtu spending limit/present amount limit in recent years. Though i did get a few nice house warming gifts for hopefully the soon to have new apartment in KY.

all in all, i think im going to give myself a christmas present in the form of a heart rate monitor. Any recommendations?

We have had a foot of snow in the last 24 hours. I think I'll be spinning the bike trainer in the kitchen for a while and using the treadmill and dreaming about San Diego.
