I'm looking for something to edit videos on Windows. Something a little more sophisticated than Windows Movie Maker. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Adobe Premiere Elements, maybe? I'm a Mac guy...

I bought Adobe Premeire Elements (bundled with Adobe Photoshop Elements) for about $100-$150. Premiere Elements is the scaled-down version of the Hollywood-style 'Premiere' ($1,000?), but it will still do way more than you would ever need. Slight learning curve, but if you are only wanting to splice, edit clips, add text, transitions, music, narration, and publish in common vid formats, you can do all of that out of the box.

haha... so were you like, "GUI?" My solution would be, buy a mac and use iMovie...

Although, the new iMovie is funkier than ever, and really hard to understand if you've ever used REAL video editing software. Of course, Final Cut Pro is the best consumer suite out there, IMO.

+1 on buying a mac and using iMovie. The new iMovie is pretty funky, but you can download iMovie 6 HD for free from Apple. I use them both, and they both serve useful purposes. Different purposes, but useful nonetheless.

Here's the link to download iMovie 6
