I know that there are folks out there who are currently suffering with ITBS, and many more that have in the past. Mine has lingered for many months, despite very patient recovery techniques (with the help of multiple PTs) and a VERY modest return to running. I've had no related pain on the bike or in the pool (as is the case with most who are afflicted). Between stretching, strengthening, rolling, and icing I've managed to reduce the severity and up my volume to about 35-40 pain free minutes. I'm curious if anyone has used a compression strap (or similar equipment) with any notable success.

I notice people using the little donut things you put around your knee, but don't know how effective it actually is. How long have you had the injury exactly? That might help those that have been through this relate it to their experience more readily.

The pain has hampered my running at various levels for the past 6-7 months. At times it has been severe, and at other times it has been mild. The one thing that has not changed is the duration for which I can run prior to discomfort. Since it's a repetitive motion injury, intensity has little to do with the onset. Hard and easy efforts bring it on in about the same amount of time.
