I use "Lock Laces" but I never tried Yankz. I would imagine they are all quite similar in performance (and they do perform well!). I've replaced my daily laces with lock laces just because it makes changing shoes much easier, whether it is during T2 or just in the daily routine.

I use speed laces.

As shown on their website, you install hardware onto the shoe that you then run the bungie laces through. It definitely has a very even feel to the tension because of that system. At first I felt that it was too loose but that didn't last long. Now I find running in shoes without them is a bit uncomfortable.
If you spot them at the store make sure you get bungee laces. They also sell them with regular cords which look the similar. It's clearly marked on the package.

I prefer yankz... I've tried speed laces and find that it take a while to get the slider tight and its hard to do with shaking hands during a race. With Yankz, you don't have to touch the laces at all once they are on the shoes. I find that using the extra plastic pieces is optional - you can just lace the shoes like normal, tie them in a knot and cut off the excess.

i just have the bungee laces. i just open up the shoe and slide my foot in. no pulling to tighten. it is very fast in transition (if only more of my game was that fast!)

I dont liek the whole Yankz system. The laces are nice, but the "optional" bottom piece is... eh. I went to the local fabric/ craft store and got some elastic and slide locks. $3 for the the whole shebang. works just as well as anythign on the market, just without the spiffy designer colors.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

With the speed laces, I've only ever adjusted the slider the first day. Then it's set and I can forget it. After that I can just pull them on. It could be that others prefer their shoes tighter than I do.

I use Yankz - have worked great for me - even with the little plastic pieces.

i use the yankz, but the plastic pieces have broken on me twice. so i just circumvent this and tie the laces off instead. they work great.

I use Yankz, they take a little time for me to get the tension right, but I've never had a problem with them.

I started with Yankz then went to bungee style laces. My advice.....they are all relativly inexpensive. Try a new brand with each new shoe purchase until you find what's best for you.

Your probably only talking a savings of 10 seconds in your transition time but you'll never have to worry about your shoes coming untied durring a race.

I use Easy Laces. I get them at my local running store. They're cheap and quick and easy to setup.

I used teh Easy Laces, then realized it was cheaper to do it myself from the fabric stores. Yankz are so over priced for the same basic system.
