I'm planning to use some of my holiday loot to purchase shoes & pedals for my bike and was hoping someone out there could provide a little guidance. I'm currently using a mountain bike for training and racing and just want a basic shoe and pedal, nothing too flashy or expensive. I'd like something that can serve double duty for the bike as well as spinning class. I believe I need SPD clips, but was wondering if someone could please explain the difference between SPD, ATB, and road pedals vs. ATB pedals, etc. I'm a little confused!!! Thanks!

Bokchoy,

I have Shimano TR-01 tri shoes. They are great! They only have one, very wide strap and can be worn with or without socks. I got them on sale for $129. I use Speedplay pedals. They are really nice because your feet can "float", or move from side to side.

Hope that helps.
