weekly workouts
I'm just wrapping up week3 of base1. You can see exactly what my plan looks like by following my signature line.

Depends a bit on your total hours and how many workouts you have time for....
My rule of thumb is start with 3 or 4 workouts per week per sport. Subtract one for your strength and add one for your weakness, up to 5 and down to 2, with allowances for changes based on personal needs (for instance, running used to be my weakness, but I get injured if I run more than every other day). I generally do one workout fewer be sport per week during recovery weeks. How about bike 5, swim 4, run 3? or bike 4, swim 3, run 2 or 3?
I'm starting base2 next week. However, my base1 got pretty derailed when I sprained my ankle, so I change the planned hours to closer to what base1 was supposed to be than base2.
ok that's kinda what I thought I should do. My training hours for the prep period are at 8.5/week, then goes up to 14 throughout the base and build periods.... by the way, who else uses the Training bible as a workout plan?
I'm using the Tri Bible system as well.
Currently on Base 1.2- 13 hours
My week consisted of 3 swims, 3 runs and 2 bikes. I had scheduled another bike session but skipped it because my roommates signed me up for IM basketball.
Overall, I would like to make sure I'm not doing 2 unique sessions every day, so I'd like to have about 12 workouts max. That would probably be 4 bikes, 4 swims, 3 runs, 1 brick for me.
Lets see next week (base 1, week 2) looks like 3 Bike rides (1.5hr, 2hr, and 3.5 hrs), 3 Runs (1, 1, 1.5hrs), and 4 Swims ( 1hr x4). for a total of 16.5hrs. 3 days I have two workouts scheduled and one day with only a 1 hr swim (my "off" day). For week 3, ill be keeping the bike probably pretty close but expanding on my running since its a 18 or 18.5 week cant remember right now.
I'm also on a cycling team so thats one reason I'm heavy on cycling.

I shoot for 4 runs, 5 bikes, 3 swims but I don't usually make it (more like 3,3-4,2). Most of my hours come from cycling because its my weakness and I occasionally do cycling team races (2-3 weekends per year). I have to limit my running to 20 mi / week because of poor biomechanics, so I make each mile count and make up the time difference in biking. Even with limited mileage, I still think I have plenty of room for improvement. I have swimming background but I let that slide for years. This summer, my running ranked higher in a few races, so I've been trying to get a move on that again. My biggest week is going to be about 16 hours.
I start base2 next week. Collegiate nats falls after the build1 recovery week and I'm peaking for Vancouver.
i try to do three runs, three swims two bikes and two weight sessions per week during my build phase right now. my first race is a sprint in march; i'm out of country all april, xterra in may and then into the meat of my schedule. i plan on reducing to one weight session per week in april, going to three rides per week, four swims (one long, one short intervals), and two runs (my strength). i am only racing oly's this year so i'm not too worried about doing really long distance training. my plan is to race through early sep, take time off until mid oct when my local trail race series starts up and runs through the first of dec.
oh yeah - i am also trying to get out fly-fishing as much as possible! :)

So I've got my yearly training plan finished ( i'm doing the training plan from the triathletes training bible) and annual/weekly hours set, I was just wondering how many times I should run/bike/swim per week? I want bike workouts the most, then swim workouts, then run workouts.
What is your weekly regimine look like?
