Do they say "you are an ironman" at 70.3 distance?
they say you are an Ironman only at the full distance, for both men and women.
They don´t!
But if you want to we can arrange someone shouting you "You are a Half Ironman" (in a German accent and Al Sultan or Staddler masks could also be arranged) LOL
cheers
Hyperactive Trifueler!!!! (I refuse to let the status go :p)
I am an IRONMAN, not an IRONWOMAN.
It's not like golf where there are woman's tees...
We're all doing the same distance so we all get called the same name (including nuts, crazy, etc.).

No, 'cos you're not.

yeah, I'm also an Ironman... just like I'm a human... having MAN in the name doesn't always make it for men only :)
"IronPerson?" Oh, no way. The term is Ironman. Period. Has been from the start. Most folks in this day and age, in this sport, are beyond the PC attitudes that force everyone to genderize everything.
It's Ironman. Embrace that. It's ok...really.
POC...dude, you crack me up! I've never seen that applied to tri's before.

Actually, I think what they said when I crossed the finish line at Cancun last fall was "Man, she looks tired!"

A fair number of people will get an M-Dot tattoo after finishing an ironman. There's some older threads discussing this. Opinions vary, but I think the only view that matters is the person who's getting the ink. I chose not to get one last time (not that I'm squeamish, I have another tat), but I completely understand and agree with the sentiment of wanting to commemorate the journey in some tangible way.
I have a HUGE m-dot tattoo on my left deltoid. More of a tri motif, with a swimmer, biker, runner surrounding the m-dot. Pics on myspace below:
would yall mind calling me a sprintman?

just curious
and what do they say to women? You are an ironwoman?
I know these questions seem dumb but I really am interested in the real answers..........sarcastic amusing ones are welcome as well
