12/13
none, I'm too sore. I had a 10 mile race yesterday where about 30 runners competed. Get this, about the first 25 finished in LESS than 60 minutes, the winner 52 minutes which was a gal that holds an American record (or did) for a 20k....that seems unbelievable for a race in my town that I had not even heard of before. I finished in about 72 minutes and run my ass off to get that time. I really ran hard, ave heart rate 182, which is waaay above how I train. So I took a day off...actually I couldn't workout today if I wanted to. I still beat my best time at 10 miles, so I'm happy.
Tomorrow, back at it!!!!!
Way to go guys!
A personal best Timmy! All right! Woo hoo!
I am sporting a sore calf from w/e run, spent an hour doing a circuit of
hot tub, steam room, cool pool, sauna, hot tub, etc.
maybe tomorrow I can jog some.

I did a 12 mile run. I was really happy because it was a full 10 minutes faster than my 12 mile run last weekend. Don't get too excited though, it still took me 2:07:14. I am surprised at how much less sore I am today. My calves are very sore, but my gluts are not. They were in bad shape last weekend.

Got to hit the gym. Blasted my legs with squats and leg presses. Hope to build some more leg muscle before I start to run/bike/swim more when I leave Iraq in 7 days!!! Although, I think I squatted too heavy. DId 495 lbs with 10 reps...and I only weigh 174 lbs. Its hard for me to focus on the endurrance side when I have always lifted for strength prior to training for a triathlon. Any advice?

Also gym day...
Noon at the gym: Chest, biceps and abs today.
Evening at home: 35 minutes bike on trainer:
Alternate 5 minutes small chain ring and 15 on the back at 90+rpm cadence.
Then 5 minutes big chain ring and 15 on the back at 80+rpm. Felt great. Sweat, sweat, sweat.
Finished with 15 minutes on the treadmill at 6.5mph at 2% grade to make it a mini brick.
Good start to the week :D

Signed up for my first tri in May and bought a heart rate monitor. Started adding hills to my run. I never thought I would have a sore ass from running, but the hills ate me alive. I'm glad I am starting to train on hills now because there is a big hill at the end of the course I signed up for.
Everybody have a great day.
I've never shared my training before but maybe this will help keep my focused on my IM Wisconsin in September.
Today(12/14/04) I ran ~4 miles on the treadmill (9.7 - 10mph with 1% incline) at lunch time and felt very good at that pace. I was relaxed and felt like I could've run forever at that pace. After that I did two circuits on the Cybex machines with triceps, lats, and shoulders, and then finished it off with my daily crunches. Tonight I'll get on my bike trainer and ride for about and hour at a high cadence(90+) as well as keeping my speed up (around 20+mph). This will be my first time riding my new bike on the trainer so I'm excited about it(Softride Rocket TT7).
Thanks to all the others that shared there workouts. It's great to see what everyone is doing this time of the year. For me it's 20 degrees and windy outside so most of my training will be done indoors this week(Iowa).

Gym day! Hit the gym at lunch, worked on squats and ab work, and a bunch of other stuff that I'm too lazy to write down. I tried that ball thing - that's not so easy. Some people really make it look like they're just hanging out. Still in the Base building phase, so it's high reps, light load, and more full-body. I think I have another week of this, then the focus shifts.
