I am/was a huge fan of the New Balance 991 running shoe. In a perfect, would New Balance would never have discontinued making the shoe and I could go on buying them forever. However, the shoe was discontinued quite a while ago and now I have to search for a replacement.
Can anybody who really liked the 991 recommend a shoe that may be comparable? Thanks!

I'm not familiar with that shoe.....what are its attributes? Neutral-cushioned? Stability? Motion-control?

I wear netural-cushioned, and have stuck with the Asics Nimbus line for a while. The current version (Nimbus 9) are outstanding. In fact, as soon as the inevitable "upgrade" to version 10 comes out, I'm seriously considering stockpiling several pairs.

The Nimbus 9 was the '07 Runners World Editors Choice for overall shoe.

i used to love the 991. i believe the 992 replaced it but i have never tried. the NB 1061 is a shoe i have tried that i think is comperable. give it a shot. and perhaps you can do a search online and find a catalogue company that still stocks a few pairs of the 991s?
