Switching back to road
You took the words right out of my mouth. The Soloist is a nice bike. I've been thinking about dumping my road bike for the Soloist team.

Welll I don't know what you could get for that bike, but I have a soloist team and I love it!
Second the Solosit team. Have it. Killer bike. Best of both worlds.
Did you ever get a good fitting on the tri bike? Not the biek shops 4 minute dropping of the handlebar and raising the seat post thing. I mean a full on $150 FIST fitting. You'd be surprised how much better the bike will feel. Even a roadie with an improper setup can be uncomfortable.
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

Am I the only one who thinks that a "FIST FITTING" just doesn't sound right???

I've been FISTed and feel much better. :)

DO NOT WANT

I have not had a proper fitting. There is a guy in SLC that is FIST certified, and I'll have it done before I commit to a new bike. One of the things I like about road biking is the scenery, so having my head down and looking at the road is such a drag.
Thanks for the thumbs up up up on the team.
Anyone who has a team been on carbon much? My tri bike is half carbon (Seat post, seat tube, top tube, fork, seat stay are all carbon) so I'm casually wondering about vibration and comfort. Will it feel like a step down that way?

Cervelos aren't known for their comfort. Even the carbon ones. They're even changing the carbon lay-up on the P3 this year (maybe next year....I forget) to make it more compliant. The Team is going to be a harsher ride than the Giant, but that'll be less of a problem than being in a position that you don't want to be in (on the Giant). A good chamois and gloves go a long way, though.

Not fast enough.
My goals for this year are to complete Coeur d'Alene, the XTerra at Snowbasin (Utah), and a long race called Logan (UT) to Jackson (WY) (about 200 miles)
Are you talking about Lotoja Classic? I am doing that one. It is September 6th this year. They have not updated their site from 2007 but I am waiting patiently to register.
I chose a roadie straight up. I agree on the scenery thing and until I am cranking out high MPH, I just don't think me being aero is going to help me much. When I do get there I will buy a Tri Bike and use it leading up to races for prep.
Lotoja classic, jup. I should have waited to get a tri bike until I was a bit better rider. I get caught up in the cool gear, and can't always help myself. Haha.

I'm 80% decided that I want to switch back to road geometry. I'm not fast, particularly competitive, or very comfortable on my tri bike. My goals for this year are to complete Coeur d'Alene, the XTerra at Snowbasin (Utah), and a long race called Logan (UT) to Jackson (WY) (about 200 miles).
I'm finding myself mostly upright looking around at mountains, and trying to force myself to stay aero when I can focus on it.
All in all, I've given the tri bike a good season, had some good rides, some tough races, and I think I want to go Traditional for the upcoming year.
Any advice from those who have looked back?
Also, what do you guys think I could get for a 2007 Giant Trinity Alliance (The Red Ultegra/105 one). I think retail was $2000 that year?
P.S. I'm thinking of replacing it with a soloist.
