Hey guys,
For a belated Christmas present my parents wanted to get me some biking clothes for my summer biking trip. I wanted to get a nice pair of tri-shorts that I can use for everyday biking and that can work in the water. Any suggestions. If possible send me some links.

Thanks,
Mike

Good brands to look at are De soto, Orca, Zoot, 2XU and I am sure there are many others. I personally use Orca's and really like them.

Most tri shorts aren't really made to hold up for everyday use, especially if you're also using them in a pool. That said, I like the 2XU Endurance long distance short because it is decent material with a more substantial chamois than most tri shorts. For the traditional thin chamois shorts, the De Soto Power short (which I think they now call the Forza), has pretty tough material. I'd emphasize, though, that I only wear these for brick workouts and races and never in the pool.

I have both Zoot and Pearl Izumi tri shorts that I wear biking and running and they are great.
The Pearl Izumi shorts seem to be a bit thicker and better built.

That is a very important point... most shorts (even those made for pool swimming) break down with the chlorine. So, if you're going to spend some money on these, you probably want to keep them out of the pool. If you DO end up using them in a pool, make sure to wash them thoroughly ASAP.

Chlorine is some powerful $h1+...
