Metatarsal pain
It's a metatarsal issue and not an arch issue right? When someone mentions arch, I immediately think plantar fasciitis.

It hurts on the bottom of your foot right? Not the top?
Mostly on the bottom. I little bit on the top at times. I ended up seeing a podiatrist and get new orthotics on Monday. Crossing my fingers!

I know first-hand about plantar faciitis and metatarsal pain!
A year ago I tore the ligaments under my right foot, and got new orthotics. The ligaments eventually healed but I later found that the orthotics were not cast correctly causing metatarsal pain. I have gotten new orthotics since.
There are smaller ligaments at the top of the arch where the metatarsal bones meet. These ligaments can get small tears and are relatively slow to heal.
I can run for hours now and have no ill affects, but if I play basketball my foot kills me the next day. I think it's the stamping that causes the arch to collapse and aggravates something.
I hope you heal well and excel at everything. Having orthotics feel like walking with potatoes under your feet :-)

Does anyone have experience with 2nd metatarsal pain? I basically have a callus on the ball of my 2nd metarsal and when I wear my Dansko clogs or walk around barefoot, the callus hurts really bad. Obviously there's something wrong with my arch and the muscle/ligament tone of my feet. I'm probably going to end up seeing a podiatrist and a PT to fix me, but I thought I'd see if anyone else has jacked up feet like me and has any suggestions.
