While doing IMF I observed some people I believe Europeans wearing these compression socks. From what I heard they really do work. They help to prevent or lessen cramping and soreness with long runs. Does anyone have any experience with these socks? They do look nerdy.

There is an article on this on, I believe, slowtwitch.com. Apparently there is a great deal of science backing it up. I don't think you will see me wearing them anytime soon, but who knows? maybe the days of the short sock are done!

If grandma likes them, they must be good!:>

I guess it was just a matter of time before compression socks threads started to appear.

Since I´m just competing mostly against myself you won´t be seeing me wearing them anytime soon.

The irony is that is took this long to get to triathlon - they have been using them in basketball for years. I have a pair of Skins power sox that i bot while down in Australia for IM this year. I use them for recovery and placebo effect or not I do nmotice a significant difference. I used to have muscle tremors nin my calves frequently. Have not had since.

I know MarkyV found them great for IM distance, but I believe he says he wouldn't wear them for a half or shorter race.

We have a Nike outlet store nearby and I found two pair of Nike 'Baseball' compression socks for $10. Haven't worn them a lot, but for $10 there's nothing to lose.
